Your mix doesn’t need another adjustment.
Sometimes you just need to STOP mixing.
If you’re changing something, changing it back, and repeating the process over and over… the mix might already be done.
Don’t ruin a good mix chasing a “perfect” one.

This is one of my absolute favorite surgical EQ's to use while mixing.

The FabFilter Pro-Q 3 is a precision equalizer designed for fast, detailed mixing and mastering workflow. It offers up to 24 EQ bands, with dynamic EQ, per-band stereo/left-right/mid-side processing, a highly detailed spectrum analyzer, Spectrum Grab, and EQ Match.

Pro-Q 3 gives you multiple processing modes — Zero Latency, Natural Phase, and Linear Phase - so you can choose the best option for your material. Natural Phase is designed to closely match analog-style magnitude and phase response, while Linear Phase is a specialized mode for situations where phase relationships need to be preserved.

Your mix might already be finished. 🎛️
There comes a point where every little adjustment stops improving the record and starts becoming a different version of the same mix.

If you keep changing the EQ, compression, levels, and effects without actually making it better… you might just be over-mixing.

Know when to stop. Save it. Come back with fresh ears.

Before you buy another plugin… learn the ones you already have.
If you understand what threshold, ratio, attack, release, EQ bands, and gain actually do, you’ll realize you can get a lot more out of the tools already sitting in your DAW.
Better tools don’t automatically make better mixes. Better decisions do.

Save this for the next time a plugin sale tries to get you.

Absolutely one of the best FET style compressors on the market.
The CLA-76 is a compressor/limiter inspired by the famed mid-1960s Class A FET limiting amplifier.
It's known for extremely fast attack, aggressive control, punch, and analog-style coloration.

This example includes two modeled revisions based on two hand-picked CLA-76
hardware units:
• Blacky - darker, more aggressive, with a bit more grit.

• Bluey - slightly smoother, more open and airy.
Use both to find the flavor that fits your source.

Some common uses for this compressor are:

Vocals (punch and presence)
Drums (snare, kick, room)
Bass (tight and aggressive)
Guitars (rhythm and lead)
Parallel compression
Transient shaping

This is one of my favorite delay plugins to use, the Waves H-Delay is a hybrid delay plugin that combines vintage analog character with modern features. It delivers warm, musical delays, from subtle slapbacks to wide stereo echoes, with creative modulation, filtering, and LoFi options. If you don't have H-Delay, there are a few other options that can do similar things like the Echoboy from Soundtoys, Valhalla Delay, Timeless 3 by Fab filter and Delay tape-201 by Arturia.
