Another 365 around the mf Sun. Down 55/lbs. My daughter is happy and healthy. My friendships are strong and abundant. My business is growing once again. I'm pretty sure I found the love of my life. Today marks a year since you’ve been gone. I’ve had over a year to think about what I would say, but even now, the words escape me, and the pain runs so deep that I can feel it in my soul. I always knew my capacity for love was great, but the depth of my love for you can’t be measured in any quantifiable terms. The joy and happiness you brought to me, Abigail, and everyone around you was unparalleled. I couldn’t have asked for a better best friend. I miss you more and more every day. I’m thankful for the pain because it reminds me just how much I loved you. You were my son, Abigail's brother, and no one can ever take away the place you have in our family.

To everyone who ever showed you love, care, or assisted in trying to save you, I owe my deepest thanks.

Grief has been a new experience for me. After losing my grandfather, the man who raised me, and then a couple of months later having to say goodbye to you, it hit me like a wave—one I had never experienced before. I do my best to reflect and appreciate all the time I was given, but like a spoiled child, I wish only for more time.
