Solo is welcome here. It was never required.

Some of you walked in not knowing a single face.
Some of you brought the whole group chat.

Both of you ended up on the same dance floor or catching a vibe 🔥

That’s the whole thing.
The transplant three months into a new city.
The friend group that just needed somewhere good to be.
The person who decided tonight was the night they’d finally show up.

Same room. Same energy. However you got here.

If any of that felt like you, we’d love to keep you in the loop on what’s next.

Have you ever moved to a new city and thought: “How do I even start making friends here?”

Same here.

That’s exactly why Mixy Events was born. 💡

We create space.

Space for the 21+ transplant community in Houston to connect, explore, and vibe together—without the awkwardness of “showing up solo.”

Our events? They’re all about genuine connection in a FUN, low-pressure atmosphere. Think:

Happy hours (aka our famous Mixy Hour) 🍸
Fitness 💪
Food adventures 🍴
Elevated experiences ⭐️
And even a little Houston-style adventure 🌇

We get it—moving can feel lonely, especially in a big city that’s all about sections and party culture. That’s why we do what we do.

The backstory: Mixy Events officially kicked off on December 1, 2023, fueled by founder Iyana (aka @TheMixyIntrovert) who wanted to create a community where you could show up solo and STILL feel like you belong.

Now, we’re in year two and:

👉🏽 We’re continuing to curate authentic, intimate vibes.
👉🏽 We’re growing the Mixy fam into something even bigger.
👉🏽 We’re working to build a team that helps you find your people.

At Mixy Events, there’s no need to pretend. Just show up as your most YOU self. That’s all you have to do and we’ll take it from there!

Ready to give us a try? Stay tuned for our 2025 events, coming soon!

Vikki Goodwin is a true Texan. Raised in Dallas, she graduated from the University of Texas and the LBJ School of Public Affairs. Goodwin beat a four-term incumbent Republican in 2018 and held the seat through four elections. Throughout her life, Vikki has striven to build a better Texas for her family, her clients, and her constituents.

First elected in 2018, she has spent her four terms in the State Legislature focusing on the issues that matter to Texans, not political theater. Now, she has her sights set on returning sanity to Texas government and restoring a collaborative and cooperative spirit, putting aside things that divide us, with a focus on real issues, not distractions.

To every Woman who showed up to our last Girls with Goals of 2026…thank you 🙏🏾💜

Thank you for filling the room with amazing energy and hope regardless of the trials this year brought.

Thank you for showing up for yourselves and giving yourself space to reflect, reconnect with yourself and plan what’s next.

We drank champagne, we have nicknames, we laughed, we cried, we hugged. And most importantly, we poured into ourselves

Thank you @connectionshtx for allowing us to be in your space. Amazing food and service 🔥

You just had to be there…
