I had the opportunity to stop by this breakfast spot while in MD. Not only was the service good but the food was delicious! Can’t wait to go back! Get the beignets 😋 by @mizgriffin

This is not the weekend I had planned. Everything fell apart at the last minute and yes I was upset but maybe this was the weekend I needed right now. Just space, peace and water. Sometimes all you have to do is ask for what you need. by @mizgriffin

September was a good month. I got to hang out at the Petersburg Book Fest with my 2 broke begging besties. Lord knows I have enough books but can you really have too many🤔 I also spent a lot of time on my porch watching the sunrise because I’m old now and I wake with the roosters. I took myself out to listen to a band one night. And a very cool person I had the honor of getting to know wrote a book and the he left us to go to Asia and B More International. by @mizgriffin

This is 43. I went out tonight and was back home 2 hours later and that included travel time. 😂 While the music was nice it was too loud. Oh well. I used my ticket and was introduced to a new local band. Now for the fun part. Curling up with my book. by @mizgriffin

From Boo Thang to Baby Daddy! Happy Father’s Day to the man who wears many hats to keep the Griffin Crew running. We couldn’t and don’t want to do this without you. I had a group of older black ladies tell me I was a Big Fine Lady and that I was built up real nice the other day. Then last night I got called a Sexy Poison Ivy. Prepare to be sick of me. 😂😂😂 Don’t let nobody lie to yall the 40’s are lit. I’m freer than I have been and I love the body I’m in. I ain’t fixing shit about me unless I want to for myself and I’m as healed as I’m gonna get. by @mizgriffin

I don’t usually care much to celebrate my birthday but this years feels special. I’m genuinely enjoying getting older because I care less for the opinions of others when it comes to my life and I’m not ashamed of what I want anymore. I honestly didn’t care to make it this far but staying alive out of pure spite was always an option now look at me. I’m excited because I can really see what’s possible and I still have enough energy to go after it. This year I will pour back into me. Happy Birthday to me!!! by @mizgriffin

2 of my favorite books and instant mood lifters. I’ve had these books for over 20 years and I still read them like the first time and giggle. Today I thought about a scene and smiled so of course I had to go read it. My book collection is my happy place and it truly feels my soul. by @mizgriffin

I got to attend my first MLB game at the new facility in RVA. Did I understand what was going on? Absolutely not. Did I enjoy myself? Yes. The next time I’ll leave the kids at home though. It rained and I didn’t mind it but they did so we had to leave early. I definitely plan to go back. by @mizgriffin

This will probably be the best book I will read this year. I’m 1/2 done and I already want to reread it again for the 1st time. Books are important because they allow you to want more than you see, dream bigger than you imagine, access emotions you don’t connect with, and be someone greater or lesser than you are. This book has stretched me. Somebody else read it so we can talk about it. by @mizgriffin
