Following that media outburst on Friday about football players relationship with their fans!….
Although the protestor’s language was bad, he did have a point, while he was trying to get an autograph for a child.
I was caught in the middle of it. Reminding me of the history of Players and management ‘keeping their feet on the ground’ with their Fanbase and Roots! And keeping that bond!
LESS AIRS AND GRACES!
Not behaving in an inaccessible way.
Eric Cantona never forgets to keep that bond with the fans.
How things have changed with players today!
Manchester United have an opportunity to do something about this! To reclaim that bond today!

Michael J. Browne, “THE GOAT’S LAST DANCE” BY A CAST-ASIDE FROM MOSS SIDE. 2026

Artist feature of Browne’s incomparable work “The Goats’s Last Dance”. An extraordinary allegorical painting of the Ronaldo family in a carnival procession through life, based on #annibalecarracci Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne, a Baroque celebration of abundance and #mortal triumph. Carracci’s original depicts Bacchus (god of wine, excess, and fertility) atop a chariot in triumphant procession, surrounded by devoted followers revelling in the fullness of life. Michael J. Browne takes that classical foundation and makes it entirely his own and using sports culture bringing the story entirely modern. This is the last week to view the piece at the National Football Museum in Manchester.

Another important part of Browne’s work is his connection to #Manchester. His #hugepainting Manchester’s Own #NorthernLights celebrates the history and identity of the city. It includes #famouspeople, buildings and events connected to Manchester, including figures such as #EmmelinePankhurst, Alan Turing and the Bee Gees. The Renaissance style creates a link between Manchester’s past and present, while the many individual figures encourage the viewer to look closely and discover different stories within the painting. @mjbfineart

One of Browne’s most well-known paintings is #TheArtoftheGame, created in #1997. The large painting celebrates footballer Eric Cantona and presents him in a Renaissance-inspired composition. Browne’s interest in football is not simply about the sport itself; he uses footballers as important #culturalfigures and explores their personalities, #achievements and influence. The painting was later acquired by Cantona and loaned to the #NationalFootballMuseum. @mjbfineart

It was unusual viewing of the eclipse through my mobile (I wasn’t staring into the phone), above is the filmed eclipse, and below it is a reflection which looks more like the actual eclipse in reverse! by @mjbfineart

Michael J. Browne is a British artist from Moss Side, Manchester, whose artwork combines traditional Renaissance painting with modern subjects and ideas. His work is particularly interesting because he takes inspiration from historical art and uses it to tell stories about contemporary people, culture and society.

Overall, #MichaelJBrowne’s artwork stands out because he combines old artistic traditions with modern subjects. His #paintings celebrate #history, sport, culture and the people who have shaped society. His work shows that #Renaissance-style art can still be used to communicate #contemporary ideas and stories in an exciting and meaningful way. @mjbfineart
