had as many shadows as lights,
a mournful candelabra against a sleek piano,
the gardenia her signature under that ruined face…”

Well my first show is in the books 😊

Thank you @blackboyartshow for believing in my work, creating such a great opportunity for black artists nationwide and throwing me into a journey that’s big, scary and rewarding. I courageously accept the challenge!

Thank you to the hundreds of people who stopped by to enjoy my space, bought art, took pictures, shared my art on the gram, who began to follow my journey, visited my website, got me water and food lol(@brookiemmadison @briansirls), and just overall lifted me up all night. I don’t take your support for granted ❤️

Thank you @stl_n8tv who I named the most popular piece “Alexandria” (the yellow one) after. I appreciate all of your love and support. Love you friend!

Thank you to my brother and best friend @mossboss816 who was an incredible helping hand. You helped me so much, this would’ve been waaaay harder without your helping hand, business mind and selflessness. When I was tired, you were my energy. When I wasn’t present, you became me. I praise God for having such a good man to be yoked to in this experience. Love you to the moon, man! Thanks @suchayee_doll for pulling up and helping too!

Thank you @vondamillerart @jqsirls @bagmankam for being my family, my inspiration, for your creativity, your advice, and the biggest push to finally get this version of me out in the world! I thank my momma in particular for believing in herself and being such an incredible artist in the area that I felt I was an imposter in. Thank you for building me up and creating a confident creator in me. (Sorry for not smiling in the picture lol)

Thank you, God! For your mercy and grace that’s new every day. For closing doors and opening new ones. For ordering my steps despite all my foolish detours. For your subtle nod of approval. For your love that never fails. Love you big guy! 🥹

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned! 😊
