Incoming 2-part post. Please bare with me🫶🏽. This has truly been the most beautiful and meaningful weekend of my life. Never have I felt such love and support from those around me. To know that I have connected with so deeply with so many to earn this title is a feeling I don’t know how to describe. Thank you for quieting the self doubt in my head. Thank you for allowing me so many beautiful relationships with everyone at this institution. Thank you for seeing Montevallo in me. This will always be my home. “We all have a place in this world” was our winning catchphrase this year as well as the closing number on my experience as an active purple. Its hard to put into words the amount of love I have for this side and for this game. But to say that Purple Side has been anything less than my home for the last four years would be the biggest lie. Every single show I have had the privelege of participating in has taught me so much. It has taught me that I am capable of so much more than I thought I was and how important it is to keep love above all else. How hard work, passion, and love will ALWAYS pay off. It also taught me that while winning is amazing, it is far from everything. Its about the relationships and experiences you gain along the way. Purple Side didn’t just make me a better performer, it has made me a better person.I would never tell anyone that College Night is easy. I have cried, pulled muscles and painted myself in bruises, been physically exhausted, lost sleep, struggled in classes, strained relationships with others, dealt with a heavy personal life and still showed up to rehearsal with a smile. And I would still do it again. In those moments, it came down to the people involved. Four beautiful casts who caught me when I was falling, lifted me up when I was low, and who were the loudest in the room during my highest moments. And for that, I WILL always tell anyone that College Night is WORTH IT. Every single time, win or lose, Purple side is always worth it. These four seasons have been highlights of my life and have held so many of my favorite moments at Montevallo. I have found my place in this world, even if it will be cheering from the balcony now.I can’t express how much this last College Night has meant for me. To be crowned Miss Montevallo and get my last PV has filled my heart more than I can express. This truly has been My Perfect Senior Year. Love you all. Thank you for giving me a place to belong.
