Trying something new 💕

For those who know me semi-well, you’d know I take extreme pride, respect, and love for the hair that grows from my scalp. My hair goals are to grow my hair so its stretched length sits at the top of my butt.

Those same people also know that in the last few years, I was diagnosed with stage 3 carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists (thanks Journalism), a step away from permanent nerve damage. And as my hair grew, wash day became an unbearable experience for myself due to the pain I would endure during and after.

Sadly I’m also not rich enough (yet) to have weekly hair appointments but one day I’ll be looking. (P.S. @noemptychair) 🤫

I decided to book with the amazing @staceywesthair for a keratin treatment to reduce my wash time by eliminating frizz (and some other scientific stuff).

I keep my curls, though they’ll be more elongated, and easier to comb through to prevent breakage for 5-6 months.

Eating in Atlanta | North Italia invited me out to their Perimeter location I popped up and was not disappointed. First: There’s No Grass Walls. 😂

Everything is made from scratch — the pasta, the bread, even the cocktail mixers. Head Chef Adrian Griffith has been with the company for 9 years, starting as a dish washer at the original brick and mortar in Miami, and now running the kitchen here in Atlanta. The menu rotates every season with fresh ingredients, so what you’re eating right now you won’t find here in three months.

We started with the house made focaccia with pistachio pesto whipped ricotta, then the chef’s board — and for the record, we don’t eat olives and we ate every single one. I got the spicy rigatoni vodka with crispy pancetta and my husband got the Sunday night lasagna with braised short rib. We shared the tiramisu. Then I got a Donatella cocktail — gunpowder fig gin, grapefruit, honey, lemon — and a latte.

Worth knowing: they just launched a new seasonal menu April 29 and are running a $25 two-course prix fixe lunch and brunch daily through May 31 — open until 4 p.m., dine-in only. There are only two locations in Georgia, both in the Atlanta metro.

Birthday Festivities 🛼🪩🥳

This past week I turned 28 years old! To celebrate @taylorbdrake and I invited our buddies out to the rink for some good skating fun. So proud of everyone who had never put on a pair of skates and wobbled around in honor of us!
