This week has been a challenge, just like every week the past few months. I returned to work or at least attempted to. I faced challenges trying to get active in the system, connecting to the network and getting my laptop in compliance. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I was really struggling to accept that I was ready to return. I probably could have fought for a couple more weeks of leave but honestly getting sign off from a doctor would be hard with all bureaucracy I’ve encountered recently. But, I had to pull myself out of the pit so I really started to find the blessings of this week. I am blessed by the friends that drove me to doctor’s appointments and to the office this week. For the coworker that I sat across from but rarely spoke to who gave me a card to share his prayers. All the coworkers that welcomed me back. For my manager who told me not to stress about all the access issues and accommodating for the physical challenges I’m still working through. Even just having a job to go back to. There are hundreds of other blessings of this week that got me through another week. Thank you Jesus for all the blessings and challenges you bestow me with. by @mklepine

It has been over 3 months that Jesus entrusted me with an upgraded cross. Who would have known that these 3 months would be filled with challenges and struggles beyond just the physical healing. From the beginning God revealed His will for me. The story of Martha and Mary from Luke 10 came to mind. God was asking me to step back and take the better part and sit at the feet of Jesus. As much as I love sitting at His feet it was a huge ask for me. God whispered Be still and know I am God (Psalm 46). It was a time that I hit step face of the mountain and really had to surrender and rely on my faith to get through each day. But, God constantly showed His love for me by whispering scripture to me; bring a community of people around me; bring me peace when things got too heavy.

I was given the blessing to share in a small way in the suffering that Christ endured for each of us. I sat in the sanctuary looking at the Station of the Cross images displayed. I saw myself carrying this new cross in many of the images. The times I fell; the Veronicas in my life wiping my face; the Simons that came beside me to help me carry my cross.

There were many times I wanted to put my cross down and beg for my old cross back. But God kept whispering scripture to me and encouraging me to continue on…be not afraid. Writings from Saints would be sent to me and encourage me that the suffering I have endured has redemptive qualities. Everything that I was encountering was drawing me closer to God. Every day is a challenge but God still shows me His never ending love for me by the scriptures whispered into my heart; the friends that invite me to daily Mass or offer rides or prayers. My journey isn’t over and I still have things to overcome from my surgery. I’m sure more suffering is ahead but I know I’m not alone. I will rejoice in my suffering (Col 1:24). My suffering will build endurance, proven character, and hope (Romans 5:3-5). I know that all this will work for good (Romans 8:28). Jesus, I trust in you by @mklepine

Today’s reading from The Book of Job 1:6-22 really resonated with me today. I have been struggling with various trials and challenges lately. Often times I would be battling a couple at a time and wonder if I could manage any more. The challenges kept coming one after another. The challenges I have faced are nothing as what Job experienced, but they surely tested my faith. I would catch myself questioning ā€œWhy me?ā€ or saying ā€œI can’t manage anything moreā€. I would pause and try my best to give thanks to God for the challenges. I knew each were drawing me closer to Him. It was still difficult to surrender and not able to manage things without help. I surely wasn’t perfect in it. I don’t think I could prostrate as Job did and say, ā€œThe LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD!ā€ I still need to whine a little before I give praise. May Job be my model to managing through these challenges. by @mklepine

Will you join me in a novena to help women and men to receiving the healing they need from an abortion decision? I am asking the intercession Micah Joseph Kim. This sweet boy has already been making miracles happen his short time in Heaven.

This past Thursday the Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat team for January received notification that the retreat would be canceled due to lack of participants. It was devastating news for us. As I prayed for our ministry, I thought of the thousands of babies whose lives were ended too soon because of an abortion decision in Heaven. I believe that these babies don’t want to see their parents in pain from the decision. That is when Micah came to mind. I know that he has met all these babies when he entered Heaven. I am asking Micah to help the parents of all these babies to find the healing they need, whether through a Rachel’s Vineyard/Project Joseph retreat, spiritual counseling, etc.

I finally had the time to make a tote that I have been wanting to make for the past couple months. No formal pattern and never made anything this complex before. Just watched lots of YouTube videos and lots of trial and error. Let’s just say I became very acquainted with a seam ripper in the process. It isn’t perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. I know what to tweak next time. by @mklepine

What an amazing weekend! This weekend I had the honor to serve on a Rachel’s Vineyard retreat. We had the honor to enter the darkness of some women and men lives and to guide these retreatants back to the light Christ. Jesus has been searching for them (and many, many others). He has just been waiting for them to call out and allow Him in. It is amazing to see the transformation on these retreats-seeing God’s love and mercy crack the barriers of darkness and revealing the tender light within. Then seeing that light brighten as they accept God’s love and mercy.

Whatever darkness you may be in, know that Jesus is there waiting for you to call out to Him and allow Him to pour His loving graces and mercies over you! by @mklepine

I LOVE the sacraments! It’s a a bittersweet moment. It’s your youngest child’s First Communion. Excited for her to receive a sacrament, but sad that she’s the last child to receive it. by @mklepine

I may be a quiet presence in the room in most cases. But this morning the Lord moved me and really felt compelled to share the reflection today. I pray that this inspires you to take a step forward to making this world a better place or at the very least give you some comfort. by @mklepine

I have been finally cleaning out my mom’s house over the past few weeks. She had so much stuff to go through. She had a Buddhist shrine in the living room. A few of her friends at the Temple came over to gather all the Temple items. With the shrine gone the bookcases behind it were accessible. There was one thing I remember being on that bookcase from my childhood. And of all the things that my parents had, it was the only I wanted. My Dad’s Bible. I remember pulling it out and looking at it as a child. Today, I found it!! Based on the inscription, he was 5 when he got the Bible. by @mklepine

Today will always hold a special place in my heart. I have always had a love of the rosary and the Blessed Mother. I leaned heavily on them to get me through many trials. Today is no different. My mom’s health had been declining the past couple months and the past week we knew that the end was near. This morning I prayed the rosary with her as my intention. I had prayed that my spiritual mother guide my earthly mother to the afterlife. 15 minutes after finishing my rosary, I received a call that she passed. What the afterlife is for her, I don’t know. But, the God I know is a loving and merciful God. I’m sure she is surrounded by love and prayers. God is good! by @mklepine
