⛳️ Not your average day on Hole 9.

Watching a Chinook helicopter refill water from the golf course to help fight the Pocket Fire near Sedona was something we’ll never forget.

Huge respect to the firefighters, pilots, and first responders protecting Arizona. 🚁❤️

Beautiful Arizona swamp, complimentary mosquitoes, and the world’s smallest parking lot hosting approximately one million high schoolers taking homecoming photos.

I’ve never seen it so packed in all my times coming here! I had to park in the neighborhood next to it and walk over just to get eaten alive. 🦟

I took the original photo of this from our hotel in Jersey City in the spring of 2009, looking across the Hudson toward New York City.

I recently wondered where the Twin Towers would have appeared in this view, so I had them added back into the photograph at their approximate location and scale. This final image is an AI-assisted visualization—not an original historical photo—but seeing them standing there gave me an entirely different perspective.

Today, I’m remembering the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

We will never forget.

Six seconds of photos, but so many memories behind them.

In the spring of 2009, our little family had the opportunity to live in New York and Washington, D.C., for a couple of months. We explored as much as we could—often while hauling two little kids and one giant stroller through the subway system. That alone was quite the experience. 😅

I especially remember visiting the area where the World Trade Center towers had stood. We went inside the nearby church and saw reminders of the dust that had once covered everything. Riding the subway near and underneath Ground Zero was something I’ll never forget. We would come around a dark corner and suddenly see this enormous, wide-open space where crews were still rebuilding.

Some of these pictures may have been taken on an earlier trip before our kids were born—I honestly can’t remember anymore. But today, on September 11, they carry a little more weight.

Remembering the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and a day our country will never forget. 🇺🇸
