Finally gave the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge a try. It’s sounding majestic on Earl Klugh’s “Heart String” album. Earl use to come in Harmony House to buy a stack of CDs when he was back from the road. I told him about reading an interview with Randy Rhoads in a guitar magazine. He was asked who his favorite guitar player at the time was, he said Earl Klugh. Earl told me that he never heard that. It made him happy. by @mlblue535

Pat Metheny “Bright Size Life” 1975 ECM:
Pat Metheny had debuted at ECM as a member of Gary Burton’s band on the album Ring in 1974, but Bright Size Life, his first studio recording as a leader, was the album that decisively put him on the map as a bright new force, with something fresh to say in the context of contemporary jazz. Recorded in Ludwigsburg in December 1975, and produced by Manfred Eicher, the album featured Metheny’s regular touring band of the day, with Bob Moses on drums and the virtuosic but then largely unknown Jaco Pastorius on bass guitar.

“I could happily play all the music from Bright Size Life right now,” said Pat Metheny in an interview for the Library of Congress in 2021. “It still seems viable; the arguments there still seem valid and worth thinking about…. My sense at the time was that I wanted to make a record that might be the only record I would ever make. I hoped to make a statement on things that were important to me in terms of melody, harmony, trio playing, and even kind of life in general.” by @mlblue535

Alice Coltrane “Journey in Satchidananda“ released in February 1971 and Pharoah Sanders “Karma” released in May of 1969. Both released on the Impulse! Label. I was fortunate to find these original pressings at Electric Crown Records in Flint, Michigan. A place where I have found lots of gold in the past! The covers have wear but both albums are in NM condition. The listening experience surpassed my expectations! No pops or clicks!!! Unbelievable!!! The spiritual jazz shines on both these exceptional albums!!! by @mlblue535

Saved this one! Found it on the cement in front of a store. Magical Woodland Creature! Phasmids, also known as stick insects, stick-bugs, walkingsticks, and bug sticks, are an order of insects that mimic twigs or leaves. They are also known as Devil’s darning needles, but this name is also used for dragonflies and crane flies. Phasmids are known for their mimicry of leaves and twigs, and their eggs resemble plant seeds. They are usually green or brown, but may have brightly colored underwings when they fly by @mlblue535

Van der Graaf Generator “The least we can do is wave to each other”. An awesome gift from my great friend Dana that bought this during his stay in Prague. This dark prog (some King Crimson vibes) band was unknown to me before I received this Japanese pressing of the album. Recorded in 1969, released in 1970, this is the 2nd album from the band that was the first signed band to Charisma Records. Fantastic listen!!! Wow!!! by @mlblue535
