As you know I made this Cloud table, here’s how I did it and what I learnt.. 🌫️

I usually work with sneakers to create sculptures out of them, so when @asics asked me to make a table for an event for their new sneaker release of course I said yes.. how hard could it be?

Trusted my hands and got to work, the table arriving minutes before the deadline. This project was showcased during the event hosted by @areyoumad.co at @footlockereu in Oxford street.

I look forward to the day I meet you aliens at these events

Inspired by the cumulus cloud, I reshape its free-flowing form into a functional table piece.
It’s a study in how functionality and stability can co-exist in a comforting, delicate way - while embracing the spirit of okki’s planet: a space that recognises dreamers, and encourages them to take risks. by @mlcka

some secrets are best kept secret.. this may of been one of them 😂

i did consider and attempt to make my own benches but it was so difficult and with the time constraint the best thing to do was to deep dive google. it was tough to allow myself to do this hahaha cause i always make everything from scratch. however in this case i dont think i couldve done a better job either the deadline for this project

fuzzy Crocs or nature..?

For Croctober, Foot Locker and Crocs asked me to imagine how id wear Crocs during autumn.. and ofc this is what i suggested.

Crocs are one of the only footwear brands where they’re made to be personalised with Jibbitz but i had to take it a step further🙂‍↕️

i just wanna say thank you to the people at @offspringhq for helping make this project come to life

and not only that but allowing me to do it in my own way

thanks to nike for approvin the project, okki’s aliens will be taking over stores one day

also i know this post wont do well on numbers so i thought to post with this song for the iranian people put there, unfortunately its a heart breaking song lmaooo

also i been seeing people do voiceovers in farsi and it looks fun, i might give it a go?

im rewriting this caption cause insta deleted it but there was a poll if i should try my hand at a farsi voiceover

imitating the balloon tie is one of my favourite details on this piece.

in theory the concept of balloon sneakers is quite simple, but how was i to make it believable when there arent really any details you can mimic? here was my answer

the sneakers had to seem weightless, a freestanding design. in my previous work youll frequently see support structures and i really didnt want to have to do that this time. otherwise, correct me if im wrong but i think this whole sculpture wouldve been a disaster. ill be sharing how i used some physics to make this happen.. but it wasnt easy haha

the second detail was this balloon tie, it was a straight forward but effective design element to push the design to a higher level.

the popped balloon wasnt necessary, i think the illusion was affect either way. yet if youve seen my work, deconstruction and explosions are a common theme so when i sat down to think how do i make this mine (besides @okkisplanet of course) it hit me that i need to try replicate one of them popping.

this then snowballed into the specific detail of the curved metal rod (on the popped side) to imitate the falling of the balloon and how the string would loosen, where as the intact balloon is nice and tall full of helium
