Salone del Mobile 26 / Milan Design Week 2–3 hour queues driven by the hype train on Instagram for brands spending millions, generating tons of waste for a week-long spectacle. Fashion brands pulling in crowds eager to touch immortality through luxury, mostly marketing, barely design, barely art. But if you strip it all off, you can see how the industry moves, how the brand stories are presented, from the logo through the entire kv, the coherence of the showroom / kiosk and every object inside. The idea and the process. And somewhere in between quality, perspective of the individual, more craft-oriented, artistic aspects. A week of people coming in from all over the world: interior architects, brand owners, designers, the curious. Trying to keep sanity between quick and bitter espressos, focaccias, greasy panzerotti, truffles with pasta, proper olives, first strawberries, maritozzi, gelato, daydrinking: beer, wine, negroni sbagliato. The intensity, dozens of thousands of steps, chaotic chats, constant noise. Always the same loop: 'what's the best in what you saw', what to skip, all captured on the fly despite hundreds of pins already on the map. Tak, to ja – pewnie zastanawiacie się, jak się tu znalazłam. Piękny dzień, przyjaciele, ulubione miejsce, nowe buty. Potencjalnie skręcona kostka która zamieniła się w złamaną, a ja w osobę, która uczy się cierpliwości i życia na jednej nodze. Wieloodłamowe złamanie kości skokowej, stabilizowane operacyjnie śrubami. O więzadłach na razie nie rozmawiajmy. Rekonstrukcjo, nawet na mnie nie patrz. Team @maxthefuture @_hannahmorris_ Yup, that’s me – you’re probably wondering how I got here. A beautiful day, friends, favourite place, new shoes. One wrong step that ended with surgery and a crash course in patience and life on one leg. Comminuted fracture of the talus, surgically fixed with screws. Let’s not talk about the ligaments just yet.
