Jesus is the way. He has renewed me, renewed my mind, renewed my spirit, renewed my marriage, renewed my fatherhood and my relationship with my children. Jesus has taken this broken, hurt, pain filled man and healed him, given him purpose and a heart that yearns to be in lockstep with God. God is so good and He has provided me with the opportunity to give my children and my family a foundation that is not sinking sand. I give Him all the glory.

My little Joey has been asking me to get baptized for 3 years, ever since Dehl and I got baptized in the same church. And today, she got her opportunity to profess Jesus in her heart.
She is my prayer warrior, deep thinker, conteplater, strong willed, never backing down, spirit filled vessel for Christ. Lord I pray that you annoint her life, build her to become the woman of God that she is meant to be. That she will change the world with the love, counselling, and direction that people around her will seek. I pray that she will lean on Your word God, and not be shaken or swayed.

I could turn this into a sermon but I'ma stop it there.

Mila is my little light in this world. She ministers to her Father's heart with her love, her praise of Jesus, and her care for others. I pray that this little girl continues to allow God to pour his joy into her heart for all to recognize. I pray protection over her heart, mind and soul and that she rely on the strong foundation that is God.

As a Father, I try not to push or force my children into anything. I try to explain benefits and let them make their decisions based off of their discernment.

And with that comes proud Father moments. Moments like your daughter asking to get baptized without ever bringing up the topic to her. And then finding out she was too young to get baptized and waiting a year and asking every couple months if she is old enough yet. And then getting super sick the day before she was supposed to get dipped the first time, but waiting patiently for her opportunity to come.

@marydehl, thank you so much for encouraging me and supporting me in this journey.

Our goal was always to be equally yoked in our marriage and I am so blessed that we can love and cherish one another daily.

I'm so joyful that we can have Jesus at the center of our relationship and sanctifying this marriage in this baptism.
