We’ve seen a lot of new friends join our little circus family so we thought it was time for a little re-introduction! Not to mention we turn 20 years old this year! 🎉

We’re Midnight Circus in the Parks! 🎪
✨ We’re a Chicago based circus whose mission is to bring world-class entertainment to communities across Chicago while raising money for the parks we perform at! It’s as simple as that 🥰

We begin rehearsals each summer and we tour over Chicago (and beyond) into the fall! Give us a follow if you want to stay up to date on our 2026 tour! 💙

We are so lucky to be able to offer our performers a training space while they are working with us here in Chicago, through our partnership with MSA & Circus Arts!

If you’re interested in training, taking classes, or learning more, check them out @msacircusarts!

And make sure to come see our last weekend of shows, today through Sunday at Welles Park!

Can two circus performers do this fun dance challenge?

Honestly, we still don’t know. Seems like some of them can! But others…🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s one more weekend left in our 20th anniversary tour! See these performers do tricks they’re actually very good at 😝

Did you know… Chicago’s Midnight Circus (@mncircus) is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year?! Each fall, they partner with parks and local community groups to bring world-class circus to every corner of Chicago. Every weekend they travel to a new neighborhood, raise the Big Top and create a family friendly show that brings foot stomping joy and wonder to all. Then they donate a portion of the proceeds back to the communities where they perform. Since 2007, they have raised almost 2 million dollars that has been used for playground renovations, neighborhood programming, park beautification, and more! The reason they started and the reason they keep going is summed up by co-founder, @juliegjenkins Jenkins, “The reason we keep doing it is the same reason we took the circus out of theaters and into the parks 20 years ago. We saw a real disparity in who had access to the arts in Chicago, and wanted to find a way to bring world-class circus directly into neighborhoods across the city.”

Their last weekend of 2026 shows is October 2-4 and will be at Welles Park where the show started in 2007. That year, co-founders, Julie and @jeffjenkins47 , heard their local playground would be removed if funds weren’t found for repair. So, they rallied the community and did a weekend of fundraising circus shows. The rest is their 20 year history! This weekend, they are bringing in special guests form past shows like @maxwelljenkins and @bookkennison! They always say that , “The best way to learn about midnight circus is to see us!’’ So, head to Chicago next weekend to see this local and international circus treasure!
