I live in Florida, U.S.A. and use film, 35mm, MF and LF, B&W or color with a variety of cameras. Moving toward a fine art focus, more creative B&W.

I had wanted to get some photos of an area behind the glassed office buildings and under the warren of highway interchanges that are near Downtown Orlando. It was quite a walk from parking, past the reflections on buildings. I passed a small lake and came to an alleyway at the end of the row of buildings and found the long walkway along the water to the concrete megaliths I sought. 35mm Eastman 500t cinema film, home processed. Camera, a Minolta X-700.

I've had a virus and gotten a bit behind on processing my film rolls. Here are some B&Ws from last week. Exploration Tower is a building shaped like a sail near the Port Canaveral Cruise Port. It was supposed to be an event center, but nothing ever came of it so it is vacant, at risk of demolition. We pass by regularly and stopped this time. I walked around the building's lagoon, maybe a mile and took photos from all sides in the heat of the day. And a few shots from around a boat ramp in Orlando. Camera: Minolta SRT-SCII 35mm SLR, film is Kodak Tri-X.

OK, I am in a Dystopian Mood.
A surveillance city is an urban area where public spaces are constantly monitored using digital tracking tools, sensors, and cameras. They do that in Red China, North Korea and Orange County. Florida. The cameras are everywhere. They really do have a Central Monitoring Facility where teams of people monitor a room full of computer screens connected to cameras, 24 hours per day. And Ai is coming, which will add to our burden, no doubt about it. taken in Orlando, Florida, USA by @mnoliberal

Fooling around with photos from the last roll. One is converted to grayscale because it called for B&W and I had none. Film is Kodak 100iso color and camera the Minolta X-700.

Last roll from the Miami trip. Mostly around the Biltmore Hotel, a 100 year-old institution in Coral Gables, plus a couple of shots after Rotary Club in order to finish the roll. Minolta X-700, 135mm/f3.5 lens and Kodak 100iso film. Home developed.

Shots from around Coral Gables, a pretty big town with lots of things to photograph. The Miracle Mile is their historic, upscale shopping district, like Rodeo Drive in LA. Plenty of fancy restaurants and stores. Even a Leica Shop right by where I parked.
Maybe my cousins will let me come back.
The same Minolta X-700 with 35mm lens and Fuji film. I met Amy Kutell, a street artist and thought to get a shot of her working but a portrait at her spot in front of the Miracle Theater was better.

Elizabeth and I left in the morning from the Brightline Train Station in Orlando. Destination: Miami, Florida at up to 150mph (240km/hr).
There was no agonizing TSA check-in. The seats were comfortably large. The passenger service, airline-like except tipping is allowed and
encouraged for those imbibing. Which I don't do.
It was cloudy and rainy in Miami, not ideal for photos but no harsh shadows,
either. I shot photos around Coconut Grove and Coral Gables with a Minolta X-700, 35mm lens, Fuji 400 film films-commercially developed. Met my cousins for dinner--how great it was to see them again! The weather improved and we returned to Orlando the next evening.

I wanted to try out the Spiratone gimmick filters and also take a few photos over by the airport: a new warehouse and the B-52 Bomber park adjacent to Orlando International Airport, formerly McCoy AFB. The old Spiratone filters were a flop for me. Most were barely evident in the photos. Camera: Minolta X-700; film was Fuji 400 home processed.

I wasn't prepared for the car show, so I used my "emergency" roll of bulk-loaded Kentmere 400 in the X-700 at 250iso. Processed in Acufine developer and I like the looks of it. The car show was for the local Hot Rod Club at Mr. Scroggie's Rod Shop in Belleview, Florida.

I had a photo slump and took some photos at Grandson's football game. It is Youth Football and the rules meant for the young players. They have cheerleader teams, also. Real action is limited and I mostly photographed people going by. Parents are supportive of the young lads, who are all mostly future Hall of Famers and uncontested GOATS in their positions.
And on the way home, what did we find, but a Car Show at a Hot Rod Shop!!
I'll post the Hotrod photos next. Game photos are Minolta X-700, Kodak Tri-X in HC-110 developer.

Center Hill, Florida is a Neo-Ghost Town and the former Main Street looks like it was adjacent to a rail road but no tracks or station remain, only a few buildings including a former gas station. We were there close to lunch time and the sun was harsh. I can go back. A view down main street, The Gas Station is visible on the right, at a formerly busy corner. A peek inside shows a large branch has fallen through the roof, another casualty of a hurricane a few years ago.
Minolta X-700 or Bronica ETRS, Kentmere 400 in Microdol-X.

I have accumulated several (dozen) gimmick lens filers over the years. I couldn't afford such luxuries when I was in college and made do with a yellow filter and polarizer, but saw the ads for filters that could turn any schlub's black and white or color photo into a genuine work of art. Send check or money order to some numbered unit in a building in NYC and in 10-30 days you got a box of them. Now people give them away. So they cost less in 2026 than they did back in The Day. And, a few frames from the Holapaw trip.
"Spiroatone" :-)
You have a blessed day.
