Dr. Ortiz Alvarez is officially PhDone! 😭🇵🇷✨️🫂

As of April 10th, 2026, I'm the first doctor in my family!! I wouldn't have gotten here without the immense love and support from my friends and family ❤️

It took me so long to post this because I wanted to really take some time and let this amazing feeling sink in. But last night, I finally sat down to open all the presents and read all the cards I received. They made me feel so proud, not because of the degree, but because of all the people thanking me for helping them along the way! That's what truly matters in my eyes.

Next stop: Coming home as a doctor and AAAS

Today is our 8 year anniversary! ❤️ 💕 It seems like yesterday that we both walked into that Biology exam 2 hours early. How different our lives would be if we weren't both incredibly nervous college freshmen 🤣 Every year by your side has been a blessing, Oz. You make my life brighter, lighter and full.
