From the field into the glass - Moatwood Gin 🪻

Starflower (borage) is the lead botanical in our gin. When the borage flowers, the whole field hums.

There’s a moment in a Suffolk summer when you hear it before you see it, a low, steady hum as bees move between the blue flowers in the morning light.

Borage is one of the most generous pollinator plants in British farming, producing nectar throughout its short life. At our farm, that means bees, bumblebees and other insects arrive in huge numbers.

Those bees don’t stay put. They spread out across the Suffolk countryside, feeding hedgerows and wildflowers for miles around. A field of borage in bloom gives back far beyond the farm.

That’s why it’s planted. The gin is just the bonus. by @moatwoodgin
