Black soldier fly larvae farmers. Insect protein. Animal treats. Insect frass. Chick Stix

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here it is! Over 4 years of hands-on, real world black soldier farming experience distilled into this piece of gorgeous industrial design.
The "L-Pod", or "Larvae Pod" was born out of a desire to make black soldier fly farming 'normal' not 'novel', affordable and accessible. We want to put this natural technology into the hands of as many businesses, farmers and communities as possible.

Proudly sustainable from the start to the end of our production process. Our packaging is recyclable or commercially compostable (@hero.packaging satchels 🤩). We want to minimise our impact on the environment in every decision.
It isn't the reason why people buy our product necessarily, but it makes us walk a bit taller! ♥️💪🏼🌱🪱

Meet my most entitled ducks! Today I decided to put them to work!! It's the least they could do for their treats! 😜
Ducks are natural foragers and it's easy to stimulate this behaviour with a handful of black soldier fly larvae.
Live or roasted, they're not fussy and make short work of their snacks!

What a view! Tinge of green across the plains thanks to some decent rain. Heading to Berri in the Riverland, South Australia to exhibit at the Riverland Protected Cropping Expo. Looking forward to talking to growers about the challenges of fertiliser costs, soil health and nutrient density. Could BSFL frass be a solution to all of the above?!? ☺️

We're here to support Black Soldier Fly Farmers to learn and improve their practice.

Our first Masterclass is on a topic that applies to all BSF farmers, from beginners to more experienced practitioners. If your egg hatching procedures are poor or inconsistent, it affects the productivity of your entire farm. In this webinar, you'll hear from experienced Black Soldier Fly breeder, Sofia Katzin from Fly Mumma. Sofia has extensive first-hand experience and subject knowledge on optimizing BSF egg hatching and neonate rearing.

We've asked her to share some practical tips and methods on:
- Optimum conditions and care protocols for BSF Egg Hatching
- Observations - what to look for for healthy hatching
- Neonates - can you count them? How do you know how many have hatched?
- Room for improvement - what can you do to improve your BSF egg hatch rate and neonate survival?

This masterclass is pitched at BSF Farmers who want to improve their farming practice and care for their BSF.

This session is FREE for paid, registered students of the BSF Farming 101 course (offered by Mobius Farms & FLYMUMMA).

We hope you can join us.
