No matter how great you think you are, all that you do is possible due to the innovation of those that came before you.

Doctors, teachers, aid workers and anyone who helps alleviate suffering > anything you ever created. by @mobstr

I’ve been thinking about a piece that is a link. The link directs you to a video documenting the creation of the piece; therefore, the art is the act of creation itself. Although it was originally intended as an indoor work, I moved the idea onto the street and further developed it by turning it into a time loop, which became the central focus of the concept.

The beginning is the future, and the end is the beginning.

Title: 6 Million Ways to Live, Choose One.

Version 1: Continue to rinse the planet and party on the sinking ship.

Version 2: Dedicate your life to cherishing the planet.

For the vast majority of existence, homo sapiens have been unable to make a consequential impact on the planet. The recent advancement of the species has changed the narrative. The acceleration of technology has superseded the adaptation of our behavioural instincts. Without stricter regulations, we will continue to stress ecosystems to a point of collapse. The ten pence plastic bag rule is a good analogy. We are aware the proliferation of plastic is not good. However, unless imposed with a cost for our usage we will choose convenience.

The structure of our financial system is part of the problem. If profit motive is the driving force, the majority of the time, consideration of the environment will come second.

Society needs radical change. Do we want to dictate the revolution or have nature force it upon us?

All of this is only tragic if we were immortal. Humanity is unlikely to be infinite, however it would be embarrassing if 3.7 billion years of evolution produced a species that knowingly destroys itself.

If the Fermi paradox is true, we need to treat Planet Earth and the life it houses as sacred.

I believe the development of a super intelligence to calculate solutions is the best bet we have.

In the meantime, pass the champagne please.

Peace, love and no violence.

This piece was installed at @stowawayfestival . We had a great weekend dancing to @shyfx and @horse_meat_disco , amongst others. An excellent family inclusive festival with intimate soundsystems scattered in beautiful woodland. Thank you Stowaway. by @mobstr

I believe we are on the cusp of witnessing dramatic global transformation. The driving forces behind this are climate change and the development of AI (regardless of whether the singularity is achieved or not). 15 years ago, I was having arguments with a friend as to whether what we are about to witness will be in our lifetime, so I am surprised to be writing this so soon. With this understanding can come anxiety, however, I truly believe at the ultimate end, everything will be ok.

I believe responsibility falls on politicians. Quite simply that is their job. They are the ones who have the power to facilitate change. Scientists have clearly proclaimed their concerns for decades. Greed has fuelled denial.

Do not criticise climate change activists. Doing so is akin to applauding your demise. Short term discomfort caused by their actions is incomparable to the suffering they are trying to prevent.

This piece is entitled reformation and regeneration. It is made from waste materials of the previous Glastonburys. Good will come from waste. In the meantime, make the world a better place for your fellow humans. I am bored of hatred. No religion, no race, no gender... just humans. Violence is weakness.

This piece was made for @shangrilaglasto , part of @glastofest l. Shangri-la, once again, I love you. What an entity. What a collection of incredible people. Wow.

Endless thanks to The Fortune Cookie for helping put this together.

The photography was done by @amyfernphotography. Thank you for the shots.

I made this out of timber. Thanks to some lovely and
talented people for their technical advice, mostly Orlando and Willy

If anyone has hi-res night time shots of this piece please get in touch.

I was apprehensive about creating this piece. I have noticed that people are quick to defend capitalism, something that I find hard to understand. It is clear that the current form of capitalism is pathological and responsible for the demise of our ecosystem. Unless you feel the present system is fair and cannot be improved upon I do not understand why you would be opposed to criticising it. I understand it is an improvement on the previous system and carries benefits, however these are not good enough reasons to be satisfied with the current state of affairs. Criticism enables change and it is obvious that we are in need of this.

@shangrilaglasto I love you and all those that are involved in making it happen. I will not specify names out of concern of missing someone but a deep thanks to everyone who puts that extraordinary place together and all those that helped with making this piece happen. I am humbled by the love, care, good vibes and dedication of the crew. It means a lot to be part of it.

Thank you @glastofest, you are quite something.

Fortune cookie for life.

Thank you Alec for the chats that helped bring this piece together.
