Our favorite day of the year 🥹❤️

What a joy it is to celebrate our amazing @wolfsonchildren patient artists and their families.

While the magic truly happens in the hospital as they create, seeing their artwork displayed in the museum is a full-circle moment.

Celebrating them not just as patients, but as artists✨

We are so grateful for another year of partnership with @mocajax and @florida.blue for sponsoring this special exhibition. taken in MOCA Jacksonville by @mocajax

Our recent screening for IndieJAX: An Independent Filmmaker Screening Series brought a lot of excitement to the city.

The four featured short films were shown to a SOLD-OUT theater at @mocajax and received tons of praise from the audience! Congratulations to the cast and crew behind ‘HEN’, ‘Alana’, ‘Extreme’, and ‘The White Ibis’ for their hard work and dedication to their projects.

Congratulations to Jacksonville Fostering Filmmaker recipient Michael Carter for being recognized by Mayor Donna Deegan on completing his feature film.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Michelle Calloway for being the moderator for the filmmaker Q&A. Her vision of IndieJAX Filmmaker Series is why we can celebrate these selected films in a place like MOCA Jacksonville.

Submissions for the next series will be open on Monday, October 5th. The event will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at the same location, MOCA Jacksonville. Details on submissions coming soon.

From Form to Projection

Students from UNF’s Transdisciplinary Studio Practices course in the Department of Art, Art History & Design, part of the College of Arts & Sciences, recently worked directly with MOCA Project Atrium artist Ryan Rasmussen.

Led by Visiting Instructor Aisling Millar McDonald, students began by creating three-dimensional forms from Coroplast and exploring how simple materials could become sculptural surfaces and spaces.

During a second workshop, they moved from physical form into the digital realm, learning projection mapping and using images they selected to transform their sculptures through light, image, and technology.

The workshops gave students a glimpse into Rasmussen’s process and the concepts behind ‘Glitch: Architecture Undone.’ Part of the Project Atrium series, the completed installation is now on view at MOCA Jacksonville through Sun, Feb 14, 2027.
