Going back to school for my Master’s has not only been beneficial for my art but also my mind. My mind has been expounded upon and I now have a firm foundation of my next ventures in my practice.
Thank you to my family, my fiancé, the faculty of the Visual Arts Department and my hardworking and talented cohort(MA and MFA peeps). by @mocty.arts

“Ceidaver; Transformate en lo Que Amas”
Transform Into What You Love
Acrylic on Canvas, 36x48in. Apr 2026.
The two loved ones locked together both combining into one another. The cactus bursts, the dalias bloom, and the buds cross. Their hearts continue to beat, as it pulses as it pulses through the space and vibrates your body.
This is my personal favorite of the Ceidaver series, as I absolutely loved the sketch and felt this one had to be made soon for the Group Show, Echoes of Becoming.

“Quetzalcoatl Para La Proxima Generacion”
Digital. March 2026.
This is playing with the story of Quetzalcoatl turning into a tree with the Goddess Mayahuel, however instead the God turns into a Ceiba tree, he who represents the connection of the land and the sky is now part of the connection between the living world and the dead world. He gives up his form to nurture and sustain the next generations.

“Ciclos y Heridas, Cycles and Wounds”
Digital. Feb. 2026
I made this sketch about a year ago. Before I start a new ceibadaver painting, I’m going to attempt to catch up on my digital illustrations.

“Ceibadaver, Transformacion del Monstruo de la Lluvia”
Acrylic on Canvas. 36x48in. January 2026
The piece that never stopped needing😩. After I thought it was finished, a new idea came that extended our time together. Finally got a picture to complement this piece, however it’s infinitely better to view it in person.

“2025”
Digital. Jan. 2026
Last year in 2025 (I’m barely getting to it) was definitely a research and visual development type of year. I broke off from my usual illustration work to make something more magical and fantastical while still being rooted in indigenous identity and imagery. As I’ve been told, my newer paintings are a breakthrough for me. All in all, I’m excited for what this year has in store for my art.

“Huitzil; Ceiba Cadaver”
36x48in. Nov. 2025
For this next painting, I wanted to base a Ceiba cadaver on Huitzilopochtli. However, these deities are not to show the death and end but mark a new beginning and transformation into a different identity that is rooted in its past, whether it’s culture, trauma or brutality life continues.

“Untitled(Ceiba Tlaltecuhtli)”
Acrylic on Canvas, 36x48in, Oct. 2025
This I feel is such a breakthrough for myself and my art. I’ve been working and developing these sketches since March and am happy to have produced the first Ceiba Eskeleto painting.

“El Sueño”
Digital. July 2025
This work is a bit of a revisit to the initial Ofrenda piece from 2023???? I’m still playing catch-up with the quantity of works produced but in the ladder half of the year is overdrive time.
