After all the abuse, after developing healthy boundaries, gaining an understanding of balance Virgo becomes empowered. This validation is no longer fueled by an outside forces, secure attachments to ones self are now the source. Virgo understands that their outer value is a reflection of their inner one.

Editorial makeup is where we get to stop asking, “Does this match?” and start asking, “Does this create a MOMENT?” 😮‍💨💄

And this look is the perfect example.
She’ll be photographed in RED, so instead of automatically reaching for a red, burgundy, brown, or neutral eye, I went in the opposite direction and brought BLUE into the eyes.
Why?

Because sometimes the most beautiful color story isn’t about matching — it’s about contrast.

Red is warm, bold, dominant and immediately commands attention. Blue brings in that cooler energy that visually pushes against the warmth of the red. Put the two together in an editorial setting and suddenly BOTH colors have more impact. ❤️🩵

And THAT is where editorial makeup gets fun.
The goal isn’t necessarily to make every element blend quietly into the next. Sometimes I want your eye to travel.
Red clothing.
Blue eyes.
Beautiful skin.
Glossy dimensional lips.

Your eye gets somewhere to go.

I kept the complexion polished and soft because the color already has a job to do. The blue/teal on the eyes gives us that unexpected pop, while the warm transition shades keep it connected to her skin. Then instead of competing with everything happening around the eyes, the glossy nude-brown lip gives the look balance.

That’s also why I tell my clients: don’t be afraid of COLOR. 👏🏾

Blue eyeshadow does NOT automatically mean that old-school solid blue shadow all the way to the brow. 😂 Color can be sophisticated. It can be blended into neutrals. It can be metallic, jewel-toned, smoked out, used as an accent or placed strategically to become the focal point.

And when we’re talking about an editorial photoshoot, I’m thinking beyond how the makeup looks sitting in my chair.
I’m thinking about:
📸 What is she wearing?
📸 What will the lighting do to these pigments?
📸 Where do I want the viewer's eye to land first?
📸 Will the makeup disappear on camera or actually tell part of the story?
Because editorial makeup isn't just about making somebody beautiful.
She was already beautiful.
My job is to help create the IMAGE. 💋
