📿 July 21: Shared Saints of East & West

Today, both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches honor two remarkable saints whose witness crosses time, culture, and communion.

🛡️ Saint Victor of Marseilles
A Roman soldier turned Christian martyr, Victor boldly refused to offer incense to Roman idols. After surviving torture and imprisonment, he was crushed under a millstone—yet his unshakable courage became a cornerstone of faith in southern Gaul. His tomb later became a center of monastic life, the famed Abbey of Saint-Victor.

🔥 Saint Barhadbesciabas (also known as Barhadbescialas)
A deacon in Persia, he was executed during the 4th-century persecutions of Christians under King Shapur II. Known for his gentle spirit and fierce loyalty to Christ, he remained steadfast even as fire was set around him. His name means “son of the messenger,” and his life truly bore the Gospel flame.

⛪ Their stories remind us that holiness is not bound by time, geography, or denomination. In a divided world, the saints whisper unity.

I read this and it convicts me….
.
James 1:19-20; My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that GOD desires.
