At the center of Studio Crossing is a community plaza, made to be adaptable to meet the needs of any celebration.

It turns into an outdoor cinema on a warm summer night, and it’s where neighbors huddle around the glow of a tree lighting on a December evening.

Along with our friends at Crandall Capital, we’ve been working on building a neighborhood from scratch.

Coordination was the focus of this project.

LED holds, climbing walls from overseas, and Momentum’s own fixtures all had to arrive on schedule and land in the right sequence.

The stage anchors one end of the room, and live jazz runs several nights a week.

The layout had to hold two kinds of guests at once: someone in for a quiet drink, and someone there for the music.

Circular booths, made for quiet conversation, line the walls. The lounge opens toward the stage.

Whether or not you came for the music, you’ll probably stay for it.

Repeal’s bar set the tone for the design.

Running the full length of the room, with a mirrored back, brass pipe framework, and black stone counter.

Art deco details fill in the rest of the space.

Working in a fully concrete basement meant finding the balance between letting the structure show and pulling the space toward something refined.

Repeal Bar is a speakeasy tucked into the basement of the Walker Center parking garage in downtown Salt Lake City.

Inspired by Prohibition-era speakeasies, the space feels like a hidden gem reserved for those who know where to look.

Walk down the right staircase and you find craft cocktails, live jazz, and a room with the glitz, glamor, and raw energy of the 1920’s.

As an extra experiential detail, we connected the Country Club to its history by activating the main circulation corridor with artifacts, photos, and mementos of the club’s past.

The wainscoting that runs the length of the hall carries directly into the restrooms, one of several details that tie these often-overlooked spaces back into the broader feeling of the remodel. taken in Salt Lake City, Utah by @modernoutwest

A great space takes care of people in every room.

The goal was for every corner of the Country Club to feel equally beautiful and equally welcoming.

The Von Elm’s extension at the Salt Lake Country Club was designed as a natural continuation of the main dining room, but with a personality of its own.

Compared to the structure of the main Von Elm’s, this space has more flexibility, a quieter room that can shift easily between an intimate lunch and a larger private gathering.

By activating underutilized square footage and giving it a clear purpose, the club gains a room that enhances its overall dining program without overcomplicating it. taken in Salt Lake City, Utah by @modernoutwest
