We’re delighted to announce Modern Projects as the Artist Futures Partner of Fair Play Art Fair.

For independent artists, being discovered is only the beginning. Building a sustainable practice means finding new audiences, new spaces and new opportunities for their work.

Modern Projects works at the intersection of contemporary art, architecture and design, connecting artists with businesses, brands and spaces through carefully curated projects, commissions and installations.

Our partnership with Fair Play is about what comes next. While the fair provides a platform for discovery, we’ll look beyond the fair to create new opportunities for its artists through ambitious commissions and projects that bring their work into the wider world.

This October, we’re looking forward to seeing 70 outstanding contemporary artists come together at One Marylebone, and to giving our own community the chance to discover their work, meet the artists behind it and buy directly from them.

Great hospitality design is about more than interiors – it’s about creating a sense of place.

For Bar Blondie, a new wine bar and restaurant in Queen’s Park, we curated an art collection that draws on the visual language of spaghetti westerns and the mythology of the American West. A salon-style hang of original works and printed editions celebrates iconic cinematic references, characters and landscapes, complementing interiors that blend southern European warmth with western Americana.

Selected to deepen the narrative of the space, each artwork enhances the guest experience by adding layers of texture, character and cultural reference. The result is a collection that feels integral to the identity of the restaurant – art that doesn’t simply decorate a space, but helps define it.

We believe the strongest hospitality spaces tell a story beyond the material palette. Art has the ability to shape how a space is experienced, remembered and returned to.

This week we’ve brought together a collection of work by ten artists for a special exhibition at Chalke History Festival.

Set within the festival’s VIP Green Room, the exhibition sits at the heart of one of the UK’s most respected cultural events, welcoming leading historians, writers, broadcasters, thinkers and guests from across the UK and beyond.

From painting and printmaking to works on paper, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of contemporary artistic voices, with every artwork available to purchase throughout the week.

We’re incredibly grateful to the artists who entrusted us with their work and helped make this exhibition possible. Bringing together 50 artworks from across ten artists, the exhibition reflects the creativity, ambition and breadth of talent that exists within today’s contemporary art scene.

We’ll be donating a portion of proceeds from all sales to the Chalke History Trust, whose work helps thousands of children discover, experience and enjoy history through school visits, live events and free educational resources.

Designed as more than just housing, Pearl Yard Bermondsey brings together 1,600 rental homes with co-working spaces, wellness facilities, social areas, and cultural amenities - all grounded in a strong emphasis on design and community.

With community at its core, the art collection has been curated to invite both reflection and engagement, enriching shared spaces for residents. From large-scale statement works to playful paintings that bring energy and movement, and embroidered textiles that encourage moments of focus and pause, each piece contributes to an environment that feels layered, human, and deeply connected to the rhythms of contemporary life.

What happens when you create a conversation between a poet and a CEO? It turns into something extraordinary.

This is what we did for the HQ of this global company. Artist Gommie’s resulting piece captures the human side of industry: instinct, philosophy and purpose.

Alongside it, Kristina Williams’ 3D interpretation of the company’s systems and values helped build a collection driven by art psychology and shared values.

Work that makes a workplace feel human. As our client described, the process was “seamless, with each piece thoughtfully chosen to resonate with who we are.”
