Little breakfast date with my mom 🤍

Honestly, taking my mom out is one of my favourite things to do. She’s like my bestie, so we’re always finding little reasons to go out together, grab food and catch up.

It also makes me think about how our immigrant parents are so used to being the ones taking care of everyone else. They worked so hard to give us a good life, and now that we’re older, I love that we get to include them in ours in little ways too.

So if you haven’t taken your mom or dad out in a while… maybe this is your sign to text them and ask them to go for breakfast. Nothing fancy. Just you two. 🤍

One of my favourite things about going to our local library is that every week, we get to come home with a whole new little stack of books 📚🤎 She gets excited about discovering new stories, and honestly… I’m not mad about not having to read the same 3 books over and over again 😂

It’s such a simple little routine, but we both look forward to it.
