Brands I work with are always surprised by how open I am about my insecurities. To be honest, I still get self-conscious and paiseh at times! Wavy hair is out BECAUSE you know I just finished a very shiok pampering session! Wei!!! Hahahha I’ve always enjoyed full body massages because even though I swim quite a bit and go on long hikes, I still get a very stiff neck and shoulders (no thanks to past jobs with long hours working at a computer). What I didn’t realize is that while normal massages only ease the tension for a couple of days, body gua sha works much deeper to release tightness in the fascia and muscles, and the relief actually lasts for three weeks or longer! I’m so happy to be introduced to @tangbeautywellness I’ve never tried gua sha or Bo Jin massages before, and I didn’t know much about them either until now. Broke down in tears immediately (guess I’m really exhausted therefore emotional) when Dajie and Cons told me so many of you were asking where Mag Mag was during their livestream the other day! Seeing everyone calling out for me during yesterday livestream, sending love, and reminding me to take care of myself, drink more water etc... wahhhhh TOUCHED DAOOOOOO! 😭♥️🥹 Thank you guys so, so much. People always say, “Wah Mags, you so smart, can still study!” Truth be told, I was never study material. You give me a creative project? BRING IT ON. But study ah? Errr, no thanks. It’s the same rule for my brand; I only take on what I can actually deliver because I want to do it right. Reverse psychology has never worked for me cos at the end of the day, my only competition is myself. If I take something on, I give 100%, or I won’t do it at all. It’s not about me being super smart; it’s just me holding myself to my own expectations. Close friends will tell me not to suffer in silence and to voice out whenever needed, but me being me, I’ve built a habit out of internalizing the pressure. Asking for help feels harder than carrying the weight, even when I know their offer is genuine. 2 exams down and 1 more to go! You guys keep asking how I do it amongst my crazy schedule, this is how I do it loh… by crazily pushing myself! 😅 #hardcore Having people recognize the effort I’m putting in hits different. Achievement unlocked! My “Mandarin teacher,” Jacky Wu, praised my features on our livestream! But then added that I’ll look even better after slimming down! WEI!!!! 😂 My friends know I used to speak Mandarin with a huge angmo accent and how it has improved with time. From learning Mandarin through Taiwan variety shows and mainly music to getting roasted by Jacky Wu himself, guess it’s time to double up on the diet! 🤣🤣 #motivated 不敢相信，我的 ”中文老師” 憲哥居然在直播裡誇我五官精緻！……下一秒直接補刀：”不過瘦下來會更好看啦！”😂 熟的朋友都知道，我以前講中文那個 ’紅毛腔’ 有多重（現在真的進步很多好嗎！）。從靠看台灣綜藝節目和聽流行歌自學，一路進化到被台灣名嘴憲哥親自 ’酸’! 看來我不只要繼續練中文，連減肥日程都要被迫開雙倍速了！😫😅🤣👌🏻 I’ve always love typing in traditional Chinese more than simplified Chinese. People always tell me I’m super animated and that my expressions are hilarious. I mean, I wouldn’t know, right? It’s not like I talk to myself in the mirror! 🤣 Truth be told, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to seeing myself on screen. Being in front of a camera makes me ridiculously awkward. Every expression feels magnified, every reaction feels exposed… but the funny thing is, I wasn’t trying to perform. I was simply being me. 🫣 So thank you, truly, for all the love, messages and encouragement, it genuinely warms my heart. 🥰🥰 You’ll probably be seeing a lot more of me on screen soon because we’re working on a really exciting BIG project. I’m also stepping behind the scenes where my art direction finally finds its creative space. Excites!! It’s been a wild year of wearing many hats, but the ultimate goal remains the same. I’m so ready to graduate and launch into my new role with my mentor! #AskMeAskMe To everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, believed in me, or simply allowed me the space to be unapologetically myself… thank you.
