A few favorites from an early morning with Christian Figueroa, a U.S. Army staff sergeant studying cybersecurity, as he participates in the ROTC workout session on Carter Field. Figueroa is a participant in the Army Green to Gold — a program that allows active-duty enlisted soldiers to earn their degree and become commissioned officers. “I feel like the Green to Gold program is one of the Army’s best kept secrets,” Figueroa said. “I’m still on active duty, I report to physical training every morning, and my place of duty is school.” taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @modoonophoto

In two attempts Francois failed to earn a walk-on role with the Huskies’ #NCAA team. Along the way he served as a student manager for the team. After leveraging humility, hard work and resilience, @GoNUmbasketball coach Bill Coen informed Francois that he would be part of the #Huskies’ roster as a walk-on.

Now, he is fulfilling his dream of playing Division 1 basketball.
