Attack on the Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Haifa!

Today, Walla News reported (the full article can be read through the attached link) that an indictment was filed this morning against 34-year-old Haifa resident Din Mor, who allegedly entered the Greek Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist last Sunday and smashed one of its windows (see the attached video).

According to the report, the accused also allegedly spat near one of the police investigators, who is a member of the Druze community.

It is deeply troubling and angering to see racism spreading among some.

We must all—and especially decision-makers—take a firm stand not only against those who carry out such attacks, but also against those who incite hatred toward others. It is equally important to issue clear and unequivocal statements condemning such attacks, which can no longer be dismissed as isolated incidents, but represent a serious and growing phenomenon, both in Israel and in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.

الاعتداء على كنيسة يوحنا المعمدان الأرثوذكسية في حيفا!
نشر موقع "والا" الاخباري اليوم خبر (يمكن قراءة الخبر من خلال الرابط المرفق) عن تقديم لائحة اتهام صباح اليوم ضد المدعو "دين مور" (34 عام) من حيفا بعد أن اقتحم يوم الأحد الماضي كنيسة القديس يوحنا المعمدان للروم الأرثوذكس وحطم أحد شبابيكها (انظروا الفيديو المرفق).
وحسب الخبر، فإن المتهم بصق أيضا بالقرب من أحد محققي الشرطة من أبناء الطائفة الدرزية.
من المحزن والمغضب تفشي العنصرية لدى البعض.
علينا جميعا، وخاصة صناع القرار الوقوف بحزم ليس فقط ضد المعتدين، بل أيضا ضد المحرضين على كراهية الآخر. كما من المهم اصدار مواقف واضحة ضد مثل هذه الاعتداءات، التي لم تعد مجرد أحداث فردية، بل أصبحت ظاهرة خطيرة سواء في إسرائيل والمناطق الفلسطينية المحتلة عام 1967!
