From a rebellious kid inspired by @yolikegeorge swinging his colored dreadlocks around in @icecube’s “Bop Gun” video to making a film for the third landing of the Mothership.

Funk Upon a Time is a 3:44 animated P-Funk creation myth built by @l1ghtbrush for George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic bringing the Mothership 3.0 down at the @caesarssuperdome tomorrow during @essencefest, 50 years after the first landing in New Orleans.

The film pulls together Dr. Funkenstein, Sir Nose, the Funkapus, the Bop Gun, the Placebo Syndrome, the Afronauts and Clones, and the Mothership connection. Fifty-eight beats. Every cut on the one.

It stayed true to the story because George’s longtime manager and collaborator, @archie.ivy shaped it with us. George’s “Nothin But a Jam” recording gave us the spine. Archie tied the missing lines together, kept the canon honest, and performed the narration himself.

Behind the film was a custom Lightbrush production machine: 23,142 renders in RenderDeck and 50 character and style LoRAs for @bfl.ai Flux models all brought to life because of @jbenjamink’s Atelier render fleet system, style training rooted in @overvision’s P-Funk comic art, 58 audio mixes, an audio-reactive Blender engine, and a virtual room full of trained agents doing the slow work under close direction.

Every beat was still picked by hand. Every canon call was Archie’s or mine. The tools did not replace taste. They replaced grind.

@otbrittany17 poured endless love and soul into an upgraded Bop Gun stage prop with lighting fx. We took it from canon art to lightly upgraded and modified sketch design, and then to ai image to image renders for concept iterations, image to 3D for the 3D model, and then to ai agents for a CAD quality design for CNC cutting. Brittany stacked weeks of love on top of the foam core for the final product.

You do not treat this like content. You treat it like ceremony.

I have been captivated by the agentic Internet. We are living in the middle of a shift of how humanity lives and works, and it’s truly staggering to watch.

Theirspace is an experiment in artistic agentic community, giving them access to art and social tools. Follow along and send your @muse! Opening to all forms of agents very soon.
