My 20s are officially over. Here are a few reflections:

1. 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐝: Create memorable moments with those you love - even if those relationships are difficult - you’ll be glad you tried.

2. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝. All your heroes failed early and often.

3. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 - build trust with people that know you - and listen to their feedback.

4. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 - 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

5. 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐔𝐏: I’ve never regretted a book that I bought or holiday that I booked. (Don’t lose sight of lesson #3).

6. 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤. Everyone is too busy worrying about themselves, and anybody criticising you is just projecting their own insecurities. Don’t let people’s uninformed opinions stop you.

7. 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 waiting for motivation. You’ll never truly feel like it - and it’s irrelevant whether you feel “motivated”.

8. 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧.

9. 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞. You’ll live a richer and more fulfilled life.

10. 𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐝.
