Why don’t I send sketches in advance? Because I don’t draw them in advance. Over the years, I’ve tried different approaches to my work, and today, the one that works best for me is drawing directly in front of the client.
I love that I no longer have to worry about sending something in advance. It used to cause me a lot of stress, which eventually led to creative block and then burnout.

My sketches can’t be stolen anymore either, which has happened many times before.

Now I can get to know the person better before the session, suggest different options, see the placement in person, make the design more harmonious. We can also change the design right away if needed.

Another thing that may not be obvious is that many people don’t see a sketch as part of the actual work. People often ask me to send several options before booking 🤡 But how often do you go to work without any guarantee that you’ll actually get paid?

And most importantly, this process brings me much more joy now. And when I enjoy the process, my brain works more efficiently and produces a better result.
