As I lay myself to sleep.
I remember that there times when I must be meek.
One can’t be so strong all the time and this refers not to turning another cheek.

But surrendering to currents that overwhelm and overtake.
To trees the limberest ones enduring taught themselves the strength in learning to bend rather than to break.
And from this observation. A lesson I shall take.

I will not allow myself to be broken.
I will stretch to kiss my toes.
The seedling faced against brick still knows it’s worth and yet patiently grows
Against whatever opposition

Blow me in different directions. attempt to pull me up from the root, show me where my energy is needed where self care can bear more fruit.
Ehh

I will reach for the sky.
The heavens look down on me.
The beckon me to take my place among the stars to astral project myself beyond Mars.
To lift my throne above where I loft.
There is more out there for me, as I remind myself when I’m feeling soft.

I will see myself cast down 9 times only to then again finally reach back up to touch what has been for me here this whole time and what has still yet to greet me.
On the other side of my own self overcoming. Stepping through.
Wait for me there.

Just wanted to share some more progress I have been making with palm torches. Some of the sequences I have been learning have come from studying @365days.of.tutting so don’t come after me for biting 😅 I would encourage others to do the same though. Following other pro dancers footsteps is how you can get exponentially better. Wanted to share myself practicing Halo boxes this morning they can be surprisingly difficult at first. I wouldn’t recommend trying them without a Kevlar welders jacket or some other type of fire proof clothing though. 🪄🔥🧙‍♂️
One thing I am grateful for are some of the visionary guides from the levi log that are helping me brush up and train on some Levi and moves and refreshen my flow vocabulary. What’s something you all are training on?

I’m tagging the airport with chalk abolish Ice concentration camps free the UOfL player recently abducted. No one should be facing life threatening prison conditions for paperwork.
This administration and current government is racist af. How is the president allowed to pardon all kinds of people convicted of tax fraud and money laundering and people who were part of an insurrection while he’s guilty of inciting it. How are we the people so apathetic that’s we let this man bomb fishing boats and invade another country and keep oil resources to himself to profit from. This man needs to go to jail. Stop allowing ICE officers to get away with whatever they want and hide behind masks. Might does not make right. BOMBING SCHOOL CHILDREN IS A WAR CRIME.

I’m absolutely disgusted with how this administration is gutting the endangered species act, killing wild horses and selling and stealing the public lands that belonged to us, to sell to other corporations for profit I can’t say I know exactly what to do about it, I don’t know what to do about a lot of the messed up stuff going on in the world rn and it’s hard to be any type of activist when I feel like my plate is so full just trying to survive and provide for my son, but when I see how we’ve reached the tipping point with high ocean temperatures, what future is there to be had we are so slowly bringing about our own extinction by bringing about the extinction of other animals. Just my own thoughts at the moment. It’s hard to see a positive future for humanity and the rest of the world when this administration has caused so much harm already. And I am asking if anyone else feels the same way what are we doing about it? by @mokujin_flows

Hey, y’all I want to share this video I was recently in with @finelinezcollective and other students that came to be apart of a workshop tutting class a few weekends ago. I wasn’t expecting to freestyle flow and was kind of out on the spot for it, but I’m proud of myself for showing up and demonstrating some of what I picked up and learned from studying dancing and tutting the past few years.

At this point there is large gap in between the knowledge I know and the training it takes to implement it to get to skill sets levels I’d like achieve and be at, but that small fact is not enough to overlook the point that where I have come forward to and been led too now is worth celebrating.
Helping raise a newborn has been a lot on my plate this past year and made it harder to find enough time to train previously.
I’m very grateful and honored to have been able to train, dance, meet, and hang around so many talented and inspiring dancers of this particular style of which I’ve been meaning to incorporate more with palm torches and eventually teach others with at some point.

I’m glad I was blessed with the opportunity to hang out and meet some friends from previous years that I only ever get to see rarely but driving up here to Chicago was worth the trip. My heart is full from this experience, and it’s been healing and good for me, from changes I’ve had to move through and am still moving through.
Once again I’d like to thank @mandijuana_ for teaching me some of dance techniques I’ve learned from her @tuttingforsquares patreon classes from level changes to animation triggers, and throwaways. I’d recommend her as a teacher to anyone else also interested in tutting too.
Thanks again to @downtempbowl / @downtemponline for being the person that inspired me to pick up tutting from watching her performance at @flowfestchicago and being an friend that has encouraged me to continuously push past my limits and helping be more comfortable & confident in being seen & dancing with others even if they are beyond my skill level.
