Even when you try to plan around it, sometimes your period takes you by surprise. Should you still come to your sugaring appointment or reschedule?

If you're comfortable enough, you can wear a tampon and keep your appointment. If it doesn't make you comfortable getting sugared at that time, be sure to reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. This is a normal part of life and expected in the hair removal business. Regardless of what you choose, we're always ready to show you the sweet side of hair removal.

Shout out to @uncle.nats . I am pretty sure this is the only thing, I bought @swwon_summit .

🦄 Pre - sugar treatment product.
💧Cleanse - A few drops of dropping Acid - let it dry - powder and start service.
🤔I used it on clients faces to privates. I noticed the services seemed to run smother with hair coming out easier & less redness.

👙In 2011, I started a Spray Tanning Business.

🤓In 2012, I went to beauty School. I was in my early 30's and it was hard for my family to accept my career path.

🍭In 2014, I learned how to sugar.

👙Around 2021, I stopped Spray Tanning ( I was good but did not have space.)

🤍 For 13 years, I worked part time building my business and had another job that created some security.

🏵️ 2011-2024, my focus was split between my other job and building my sugaring business.

🛣️ In 2024, I quit my other job and went full time self employed. I lost my health insurance.

🥴 For much of my adult life ( starting in my 30's) I have struggled with crowds, anxiety, and depression. As well as allergies and hives. For many years, I had no motivation.

🤓 In 2025, I went to an integrative doctor and got help. I wanted to get on HRT. I paid out of pocket, was prescribed all hormones, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.

🏜️ That year, I was able to go on a family vacation .

🧡 In 2026, I still struggle with anxiety yet not so bad, I can exercise and I can clean my house more often than less. This year, I really feel the difference. Not birth control, bui- identical hormones.

😱 I think I have been in per menopause for 11 years, starting at 38. No MD'S helped me, they only prescribed me antidepressants and antianxiety

🧑‍🤝‍🧑This year, after many years, I had the courage to go to a sugaring event, for the first time ever. I had to take breaks, because my social battery is low. That's okay.

🧙Swoon was a smaller event where I connected with other sugar professionals, took classes, learned about companies, made a vacation out of the trip and most of all, found community by meeting other hair removal professionals.

👁️I share this so you don't feel the need push yourself, burnout because your trying to do everything or compare yourself to others. Follow your intuition.

I thought it would be fun to share this lil tidbit.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with work.

I can't afford to hire someone hourly because I would have to pay Minimum hourly rate $16.00/ hour, Workers Comp & Payroll taxes.

Many of us are good at other things too, like Social Media & want to pay someone like another Esthi who understands the Industry - Independent Contractors or W9.

Do you know an Esthi who also has a side hustle? How can we support each other in this industry?

I wanted this on my story. For some reason IG wants it to come on my feed. I feel like I waste a lot time trying to post, share, like, due to my phone and IG glitching. I am exhausted with wasting time.

I took a class by @askjena @swwon_summit . She broke down business basics for financial understanding in her class with forms I can take home. Her strategy and ways of sharing wisdom solidified where I need to focus my time and what I need to succeed in my business.

You know that feeling when you meet a person and they're energy, knowledge and beauty sits with you....you realize... this ....this is where I want to spend my time, learning how to manage my business finances...creating a life of living not wasting.

Bumps aka Ingrowns drive many clients mad 🤯. Some clients will not return to sugaring or waxing if they get too many ingrowns.

Here are a few different reasons a person will get ingrowns.
1. A client is prone to them. For example, they have curly hair.
2. They are not exfoliating at all or enough or with the correct tools
3. They are not moisturizing with a water based moisturizer
4. There skin is sensitive
5. The technique used may be causing hair breakage or skin tugging
Side note - if you have an ingrown and a hole that looks like a volcano is near, that means your hair is trying to find a way out.
