Introducing - MOLLOY @molloy1_ (@hollowtechno )

We met Molloy through music and many shared dance floors. He’s since become a good friend and part of the Tribe. So for our first genre specific club night in the city, it felt right to have him with us.
~
An underground DJ and producer from Liverpool, Molloy’s style encompasses both the dark and light sides of techno, some would say the perfect triad of raw, hypnotic and groove-laden beats.
~
He’s also the co-founder of Hollow, a techno party that began in 2021, with his sets and productions influenced by the raw, tribal and groove-driven house and techno of the 00s.
~
From travelling to Croatia and Japan for gigs to sharing line-ups with some serious names from the underground, his sound has travelled well beyond Liverpool while staying rooted in the influences that shaped him.

The axe is cast - no turning back! 🪓⚡️

We are very happy to welcome Liverpool’s own @molloy.th to Out of Place - a proper underground head with a soft spot for both dark, moody techno and those sneaky grooves that keep you moving at 5am 🙂‍↔️

His new 4-track EP Axe Kick delivers the full package: raw, hypnotic, a bit emotional, and very dancefloor-ready. Tested on late nights, early mornings and everything in between. 🙂‍↕️🖤

Out now on all digital platforms, including Bandcamp!!

Tribe Selections | @molloy.th

Molloy is a DJ and producer from Liverpool known for blending raw, hypnotic and soulful grooves. After years of shaping his sound and curating his own events with @hollowtechno he brings us some of his all time favourite tracks. LP

Jungle Wonz - The Jungle

A track that is ahead of its era, for me it’s a timeless track that I could listen to on repeat. The moody atmospheres, tribal percussions, jungle samples and deep soulful groove make this a powerful club tune.

Patrick Prins - Indoctrinate

One of my favourite electronic tracks ever, it was the first record I bought on vinyl. The driving bass-line brings energy, airy synths that have subtle textural changes which takes you into a trance, possibly the best synth work I’ve heard.

Faze Action - In The Trees (Carl Craig C2 Remix)

It’s only right for me to add some Detroit techno in this list. This one’s a slow burner, proper heads down stuff. The track gradually builds tension over time which is a trademark in Carl’s C2 work. It’s effective in both peak time DJ sets and immersive listening contexts.

Love Over Entropy - Groundswell

The arrangement leans towards an hypnotic, trance like feel with bending synths taking you on a 10 minute journey. The use of reverb in this track is a key part of the production, it’s what got my attention from the first time listening. The long decay, especially on the pads makes them feel as if they’re floating which contributes to the hypnotic feel. It’s ideal for early hours in the club when peak time energy wears off and you need some immersive listening. taken in Liverpool by @molloy1_
