WE’RE ENGAGED!!! ✨
────﹒♡﹒────
The discovery that so many people in our lives came together to make this event so momentous, in one of my favorite places on earth, fills me with a gratitude I could never name.
Getting engaged on a beach bikepacking trip, sunburned, sweat-soaked, helmet-marked, and giddy from the ocean? It just couldn’t have been more perfect for us.
I love you, Nicky❤️

photography credits and massive thanks to Megan and Grace, who hit the nastiest romantic angles for us 📸
special, special gratitude to Sarah for the best decorations and the most perfect cake that was ever made🎂(not an exaggeration)
and all my love to all the sweetest (sneakiest!) members of the gang that were able to show up for the celebration 🪩
swipe to the end for Charlie’s reaction when we told him

- butterfly species identified: 7
- fiddler crabs spotted: 500 million

We will NEVER FORGET our Forgotten Coast escape weekend, including our not-so-sneaky sneak peeks of Aucilla, St. Marks, and Tate’s Hell for this year’s Tally Tango route☝🏻🤓 survey says: could be lots of puddles this year.

swamp gravel nature journal vol. 4: summer’s peak 𓆈
𓇢𓆸𖡼.𖤣𖥧𖡼.𖤣𖥧𓆣☆𓍊𓋼𓍊
Playing “heat roulette” and training on the bike has recently been rewarded with sun-loving blooms, rare fruits, and seldom-seen fungi, but I may have just picked the same shady spots as other wildlife on high noon breaks !!! The only penalty in heat roulette is heat sickness, and it mostly only strikes when I forget the pickle shots.
While daytime radiation continues to approach unbearable, I’ve been escaping often to the springs and the Suwannee for relief — and, not-so-secretly, to soak in what they look and feel and smell like before the water sinks any lower. The SUP nature journal can, and does, fill a book 📖
Sudden storms, ticks, HORSE FLIES😵‍💫, and falling tree branches made obtaining a few of these shots a little more dangerous than others — all the same, I’ve been insanely lucky to find so much abundance on such hot rides<3
please enjoy our fourth creature feature🦎🐦‍⬛🐞🦗🌿
