Nothing like kicking the first day of second grade off with a two-hour delay for flooding! Everett is excited for a new school year and to have some good buddies in his class. Leighton is off to middle school today! She’s excited for a great year. It seems unbelievable to me that I’m old enough to have a child in seventh grade when I swear I was just in seventh grade myself. Wasn’t 1998 just ten years ago?

Everett doesn’t start school until tomorrow. And he enjoyed reminding Leighton every hour yesterday. There was no chance the little prince was getting out of bed at 7:30 to send Leighton off, so I will look forward to tomorrow’s photo of them together ❤️ by @mollymealer

Everybody asked what I was doing for my 40th birthday and the answer was: driving these two little ballers down to Bloomington for basketball camp. This was Leighton’s fifth year of IU Camp and her first year bringing a friend. Hayden told me within the first 24 hours that she wants to go to Indiana, so I’m considering this trip a major success ;). They worked hard, had the best coaches (thank you @mayamakalusky & @ashh_cash13), did all the shopping, ate the best B-Town food, won the team championship, and even survived a tornado! I know all three of us will remember this week forever ❤️ taken in Bloomington, Indiana by @mollymealer

First Day ➡️ Last Day of 1st and 6th!

All I can say is… what a year. These two have accomplished so much academically and athletically but I am most proud of the resilience they’ve shown and continue to build as the months fly by. It’s hard to believe we started this school year in our real house with our normal routines. It feels like a lifetime ago. But they’ve never once complained or let circumstances get in the way of their daily missions. The many lessons in this little detour in our lives have helped them both grow in ways you can’t see just from looking at these photos.

T W E L V E 💫

Every year seems to go a little bit faster than the last. It’s such a privilege to watch Leighton grow up and cheer her on through every phase. At twelve, she is still the sportiest spice - I’m posting her birthday video at 9:30pm after walking in the door from a basketball tournament. Leighton loves chasing championships and we love watching her live her best life while she does it. She also loves her friends so deeply and is blessed with some of the best ❤️ Happy birthday to our favorite girl in the world! by @mollymealer

Leighton would say every season of her ball girl era has been special but this one felt even more so, and I think it’s because she came into this basketball family four years ago with this senior class. Hills and Valleys.. every season is full of both. This season was no exception, and while it ended a couple games shy of what everybody hoped for, the memories will last a lifetime. Grateful for it all 💙 by @mollymealer

For the glory of old IU. The Hoosiers are National Champs! I’ll remember this trip to Miami for the rest of my life and I hope our kids do, too. What a special night for the greatest institution, my beloved Indiana University. If you didn’t believe anything is possible, I bet you do now!

It was such a joy to run into so many familiar faces in an absolute sea of cream & crimson. IU fans truly invaded Miami and it was the joy of a lifetime to be a part of it all. Hoosiers forever ❤️ by @mollymealer

Trick or Treat 2025… Elmo and Macho Man Randy Savage. Grateful for our village; nobody does Halloween like Granville!

This was the first year Everett didn’t want a costume that coordinated with his sister’s, and it was the first time Leighton went trick or treating in another neighborhood with her group of friends. Time goes too fast! by @mollymealer

Granville United wins it all! After years of watching his sister compete for championships, Everett finally got the chance to win one of his own… he wasn’t going to let the moment slip away.
