It’s really cool that Jack Kirby is being honored in NYC with his own section of Essex Street, now called Jack Kirby Way. This portrait was created several years ago for a family who are fans of DC and Marvel Comics. Kirby co-created Captain America, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Hulk and numerous other characters. For the background, I emulated halftone dots to reference comic strip color. #bottlecapportrait #marvel #heros by @mollyrightstudio

My heart is heavy to hear that Leigh Magar is no longer with us. She was a gifted milliner and fabric artist, an effortlessly chic and perennially cool person — an all-around lovely human who contributed so much to the Charleston arts community for decades. Leigh was an inspiration to many and infused creativity into every facet of her life. I made a few portraits of Leigh in the early 2000’s. She was a natural and generous muse, and her unconventional beauty made her an irresistible subject.
