Watching one of your best friends of 20+ years get married is a pretty special thing ✨

I never particularly enjoyed school. Mainly because I had a bit of an issue with authority (shocking, I know) but I also didn’t leave with a huge number of friends, largely because I’d already found my people long before secondary school.

But then there was Lia.

Lia came from a rather traditional family, with parents who had very high expectations. So you can imagine their delight when, at their first parents’ evening, they were repeatedly told that their daughter had SO much potential, but unfortunately some girl called Molly was proving to be quite the distraction.

Her mum promptly insisted we were never to sit next to each other again and I’m pleased to report we ignored that particular instruction.

And thank god we did. Because on paper, Lia and I make absolutely no sense. She’s the definition of Type A, while I’ve spent most of my life operating somewhere between organised chaos and complete disaster. But sometimes the most unlikely friendships turn out to be the very best ones.

Nearly 25 years of love, loyalty, trust and a LOT of laughter later, I know that despite the thousands of miles between us, she’d be there for me in a heartbeat. So being able to be there for her, on one of the biggest days of her life, has meant the world.

Watching her marry Cody (KoKo) surrounded by the loveliest group of friends and family (old and new), was pretty bloody special. Congratulations you two!

Imagine spending 40 years carefully curating an excellent group of friends only to take them all to Marrakech where they discover they all prefer me. Devastating.

😡 Women should be able to go out, get pissed and dance with their mates without being constantly on high alert or having to think like fucking MI5 just to feel safe.

Last night we noticed a group of men acting OFF. Following girls towards the toilets, waiting outside, signalling to each other and seemingly swapping places between floors.

We didn’t know what was going on, but every gut instinct told us something wasn’t right.

So we sobered up pretty fucking quickly. Protected our drinks (enter my genius best mate). Warned other women. Made it blatantly obvious to them that we were watching and reported it to security.

And ultimately ended our night feeling anxious and, tbh, slightly violated by the whole thing.

Anyway as I always say, trust your gut because there are plenty of scumbags in this world unfortunately ❤️ by @molsmccarthy

The search for the black tie wedding guest dress continues 😩 some of these were SO pretty but just didn’t fit right. If anyone has any suggestions of where to look PLEASE let me know.

Silly of our babes at @mokking_bird to invite Amy and I to the @officialntas and expect us to act normal/professional. Nevertheless though, we appreciated it ☺️ it’s so nice to be a guest at these things versus being a door bitch so thank you our angel girls @ellenrusby @nadiaking1 @gemwheatley 🫶🏻

Bridie & Carter getting to celebrate their birthdays with the woman who started it all, is pretty special 🫶🏻 Nana turns 96 in September, and I’m so glad Bridie will know her, especially because mum isn’t around. I don’t take the fact that she’s with us for granted 🥺
