On September 21, 1967, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles recorded the Motown classic “I Second That Emotion” at Hitsville U.S.A. in Detroit. The song would go on to become one of the group’s signature hits.

59 years later, we celebrate the creation of this timeless music at Motown On Mondays LA! Every Monday night, our DJs play Motown classics, covers, remixes, and close family to soundtrack one of Los Angeles’s best dance parties. Join us!

Every September, in honor of Otis Redding’s birthday, we pay tribute to our cousins to the South: Stax/Volt Records, who are home to fellow soul giants like Isaac Hayes, Wilson Pickett, Rufus & Carla Thomas, Booker T & The M.G’s, Sam & Dave, The Emotions, & more. It’s a Memphis vs Detroit Soul Showdown, and we can’t wait to see y’all on the dance floor!

60 years ago this week, The Supremes A’ Go-Go was released and it would become the 1st album by an all-female group to reach #1 in the US!

Michael Jackson was / is unbelievable. The idea that we can host a party, strictly play his music for five hours straight and still not have enough time for it all is mind blowing. Even more incredible is how much his music has meant to all of us. This past Monday Nite was proof. Old and new, it all feels timeless. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, LA!
