My father worked down in the financial district in the 80’s and would come home to Queens with Duane Reade bags filled with toiletries. Pantene shampoo, the pink soap bar from Olay, Colgate toothpaste, etc. I always remembered their shopping bag. It wasn’t like any other plastic bag around. It had a big boxy structure made of thick plastic. It appeared to withhold heavy weight (in reality the heavier the items the likelier the handles were to snap 🥲) and it had a big bold logo across the front that was always dope to me.
