Ottawa dancefloor diva Mona Monet brings magnetic energy and open-format flair to the Queertopia 3000 Kiki Ball afterparty at Pique #21 💖🎛️

A multidisciplinary artist and electronic DJ, Mona has emerged through Ottawa’s creative scene with a playful and curious approach to sound. After developing her practice as a participant and facilitator with Pass the Vibes, she’s delivered high-octane sets at Capital Pride, City at Night, Fringe Festival, mini kiki balls, and beyond.

With an eclectic sonic palette and an instinct for curating togetherness, Mona Monet invites open minds, grooving bodies, and warm hearts to the dance floor.

Catch the vibe on September 26 at Arts Court for FREE admission—RSVP via the link in bio or thisispique.com 🔗 Mona Monet DJs on a CDJ, wearing a white face mask and headphones. The image is awash in red, green, and pink light trails, creating an energetic, glitchy effect. Khaki and salmon-pink graphic ribbons overlay the image, displaying the artist’s name, date, and location of the Pique festival. taken in Arts Court/Cour des arts by @monaamonet

BAD GYAL ENERGY TONIGHT. 💋🔥
~

Concept 177
~

Main room📍 @citygridwrks ~ @badgyalanthems : cowboys & lezbianz

forward thinking music by:
@spexialkxy
@monaamonet
@elitza.k
@mynametishe

Bad Gyal anthems is Ottawa’s only women-led Queer dancehall fete. It is a fusion of the fiercest women shaping sound and paving the way in a male-dominated sound culture. This is the place for rude gyals from all around; we’re here to break out and gwaan bad while looking our best.

The theme is Cowboys & Aliens (2011) , a retro-futuristic remake of the original motion picture. You can expect to hear sounds of Dancehall, soca, bouyon, kampe, baile funk, zess, Miami bass, vogue/ballroom mixes, and dancehall pop/Y2K club hits.

~
Side room📍 @cityannx ~ CLASSIC ROCK NIGHT vol. 2

After a massive hit at the first edition a few months ago, it was necessary to bring it back! This is a night dedicated to one of the greatest eras in music history. Think Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Queen — the tracks that defined a generation and still hit just as hard today. Pure music appreciation, pure nostalgia. No dancefloor pressure, no crazy mixing — just incredible selections and good vibes.

shaking ass is eternal.

if i were to make a zine for last month’s #BSM🍑, this is how i would spotlight the amazing djs who made the night happen. and because they are staples in the nightlife/music scene in Ottawa, and everything in this city is connected, it wouldn’t be too hard to find opportunities to shake sum with them again. let me help you.

@kyal00.dnb - September 5th🤫 follow him and stay tuned for more details about his next gig.

shaking ass is spiritual.

@spexialkxy - she’ll be leading the troops @badgyalanthems @concepthursdays on August 20th (and catch me there too while ure at it🤭)

shaking ass is communal.

@hug.mosh (GETTE ENGINE) - shake some with her as she opens for @partygirlrising ‘s show with @yolandelaroche_ on August 13th @ Club SAW

shaking ass is.. like why wouldn’t you just want to?
