I’m so cold all the freaking time lol. So I wear a LOT of layers😂

I recently discovered I’m obsessed with fantasy books. I just finished Throne of Glass and am now just a shell of a person. Send help. 😭😭

I’m an engineer which means if I mention something I have probably spent an unreasonable amount of time researching it so you don’t have to! We are talking spreadsheets and comparison charts. You are welcome. 😂

The first time someone asked me to go backpacking I genuinely thought they had lost their mind. I went anyway. I froze SO completely it was almost impressive. NOW I go winter camping and stay warm. Wait what. 🧊⛺

I have a cat named Prince Sven. I thought all cats were mean for over 30 years. Turns out some of them are basically dogs. Whoa. He’s training to be an adventure cat and I am fairly certain he thinks he is being held hostage. 😂🐾

I am so glad you found me. This page is for anyone who has ever felt like Alaska or adventure was for other people and not you. It is for you. It always has been. ☺️💖

Just a casual ride home and run into these ginormous fellas!! It’s very rare to see two males together so me and many other cars were *freaking out* I also think I ran into this exact pair before!! They followed each other the whole time and looked like best friends 🥹

It’s still crazy to me that I grew up here. I get to call this place home. I’ve watched it change through the seasons and through the decades. The glaciers are different. The waters are different. Every day is a completely new experience.

There are few things that will upset me, this is one

I love sharing the beauty of Alaska but I would genuinely hope that anyone who ventures out to see it treats it with respect

We are a very welcoming bunch but it is a requirement to treat the animals here kindly and the environment as well.

Leaving trash on trails and creating chaos for others to deal with is really not acceptable. Please don’t get me started on the human waste.

Appalled.

Has anyone seen something similar? What can we do to improve this?

Please see the beauty and please remember this is home to many of us including the animals. Nature and the environment mean more to us here than you can possibly imagine.

If you being trash or anything else please be sure to pack it out.

I genuinely don’t believe the applies to anyone who is following me because I have had many amazing conversations with you all. I do think needs to be said so it will hopefully reach the right people. Hopefully we can come together to figure out how to preserve the beauty that is Alaska.

This is his very first time on a boat!! So proud of him. We spent hours finding an area that had no people and it was totally worth it 🥹

I’m convinced Alaska is actually Jurassic park. Yes a lot of people stopped to ask me about the wildlife I was carrying around lol. But seriously this trail though, just stunning.

I’m not even really sure how to explain the emotions going on here. Terror, excitement, jitters, stress, uncertainty, uh yea.

A lot going on.

No I haven’t done a trip where I was flown out to in the middle of the mountains and just dropped off before.

So there’s that.

The only way back is to hike through mountains, rivers, snow, and several glaciers. Several days and miles and miles to go.

Yes I’m very very nervous.

A waving baby otter?! What!! I cannot believe I got to see this little baby sea otter 😭😭 the sweetest thing. Mama otter is doing a lot of work carrying this little one around!!

Did you know a baby sea otter is so fluffy it actually can’t dive underwater? 🥹🦦

Alaska is pretty spectacular. So thankful for all the animals and this gorgeous place 💗✨

They book the cruise. And I get it, it looks incredible in photos. But here is what you are actually missing.

The drive from Anchorage out south is one of the most stunning drives in North America and most people never do it. They fly in, hop on a boat, and never once stop to actually feel Alaska. And that makes me want to cry a little. 🫠

Within ONE hour of Anchorage you have turquoise glacier water, snow capped peaks, and pull offs that will make you forget what words are.

Just a bit further and you are in Kenai or Seward, two of the most stunning places on this planet. Fireweed everywhere. Mountains meeting the ocean. What do you mean you want to miss this and be on an old boat?! Are you crazy. 😂

And the best part? You stop when YOU want. You stay as long as YOU want. No tour schedule. No bus. Just you and Alaska at your own pace.

The cruise will still be there. But renting a car and driving south? That is the Alaska that changes people. 🏔️

I genuinely don’t know how to explain the emotions I felt here. This specific area has been on my list to explore for so so long. This is one of those moments that impacts you truly on a soul level.

I grew up in Alaska and let me tell you with each year I spend here I feel more and more gratitude to be here. What a truly magnificent place to call home.
