The Empty Apartment (2026) A film by Natanael Garcia

A young couple moves into their first apartment full of hope — but as ambition curdles into shame, silence into secrets, the same four walls that held their dreams start to close in.

The Empty Apartment follows Evan and Rosie as they build a life together, only to watch it unravel under the weight of unemployment, addiction, and the things left unsaid. A thesis short film from the Los Angeles Film School.

⋆ ˚acting highlight reel | 2026 ｡⋆୨୧˚

i love being an artist. i love this art form. i love this space and i love the experiences. i love the other artists and people i’ve met so far. i love the things we create, the conversations we have and the stories we tell.

it’s given me the permission to explore many parts of humanity and most importantly, the permission to be human. grateful for it all.

here’s to more of the messy, beautiful stories we’ll tell 🤍

throwback to time crush 🖤🎬

august 2025 on a friday evening, I received a text from @directornadin to join their team for the LA 48 hour film festival - a festival where a creators and artists come together to write, film, and edit a 7-min short film within 48 hours.

the next day as I was arriving to set, and while getting prepped, the script had 7 pages of heavy dialogue. it was challenging memorizing lines, especially for a fresh actress like me, and the day was so hot. yet everyone was so patient and understanding; there was this energy and willingness to create art and make something great regardless of the outcome. it fueled me.

a 7-min version of the film minutes before the deadline. come to find out, we actually ended up with a 12-min version of our film (our happy little accident) and Nadin asked me to do reshoots for a director’s cut.

we were not only recognized and given awards during the 48 festival, but Time Crush made its way through its own festival journey this past year. I’ve received a few awards for best actress, and I’m so grateful for the recognition and honorable mentions from @baadawards, @indieshortfest , @newyorkintfilmawards .

shoutout to the crew, @flame.production.wrld , and my scene partner @don.miroradoff for handling me with so much care. just a memorable and personable experience in my career thus far. and thank you @directornadin for trusting me during the film. you have a way of translating your vision to actors in such an honest and open way. what an absolute pleasure and what a privilege it was working with you. I will forever treasure this film in my heart and in my career. I look forward to the day our paths cross to make something beautiful once again.

спасибі & yours truly

so grateful to be part of the @48hourfilmla with this being my third year running (second in LA) and making it to the ‘Best of.’ the 48 always holds a special place in my heart and on my calendar every year. I’m inspired by the teams and the 140+ films that were made in those two very hot days. and what a joy it was getting to work with @redcapefilmsusa team - @kokimbochis, @tonykimtime, @mikaylerrr & crew. thank you so much for having me as yours truly, daisy miller 🤍🌼
