Resident ducks and dogs, and some other creatures we have met in our cottage garden. At least those that I’ve managed to film. We have two ponds (kept separate from ducks) and they are so good at supporting the wildlife. From the creatures that live in the pond, to the birds and pollinators that bathe and drink in it, and the bats that snack on flying insects above the water.

Was very happy with my basket of tomatoes from the garden this week (second clip). Still loads more to harvest before I tidy the garden up for winter. The asters are at their best at the moment, and some perennial sunflowers, dahlias and other colourful things. The ducks are more energetic as they’ve finished their moult. Have a lovely Sunday. 🌻

Home sweet home. The ducks are regaining their energy now they’ve finished their moult. Last few baskets of tomatoes from the polytunnel, waiting for squashes to ripen and there are newts absolutely everywhere. Almost witchy season 🐈‍⬛✨

AD a morning reset in the cottage with a little help from @smolproducts. I braved the garden for the first time in weeks (the heat has been making me avoid it). The polytunnel was miraculously thriving and I found some beautiful tomatoes. Then onto my chores today which were cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. We love smol for a number of reasons, the refills are plastic free and use 91% less carbon than traditional cleaning products. They also use less chemicals than the big brands, and as you can see do a fabulous job of the clean. ✨

AD Aaron and I had a magical morning exploring Tintagel Castle with @englishheritage. It’s been just over a decade since we last visited, and the impressive footbridge that connects the mainland to the headland was new to us. It follows the route of the medieval crossing that would once have connected the two sides of Tintagel. The breathtaking coastal scenery and castle ruins were just as we remembered them.

On the headland you’ll find the remains of small rectangular buildings from the 5th–7th centuries, when Tintagel was an important stronghold and trading centre with links to the Mediterranean. Centuries later came the tales of King Arthur, with the 12th-century writer Geoffrey of Monmouth naming Tintagel as the place where Arthur was conceived. The legend was so powerful that it may have even inspired Richard, Earl of Cornwall, to build his own castle here in the 1230s.

Such an incredible spot to visit. We got lucky with some glowy sunshine during golden hour, and the beautiful blue hues of the sea. @tintagelcastle_
