THE FIRST OF MANY 🔒💙

Kicking off our 2027 re-signings with a familiar face!

We’re thrilled to announce that Shane Chapman has re-signed as our Senior Women’s Coach for the 2027 season! 🏉

Shane’s passion, commitment and dedication to our women’s program have been instrumental in building the culture and development of our playing group, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him leading the charge once again.

The first piece of the puzzle is locked in, with plenty more to come… 👀 taken in Frearson Reserve by @monashbluesfc

Vale Ian Edney The Monash Blues community mourns the passing of former Senior, Reserves and Under 19s coach, generous coterie donor, and friend of many, Ian Edney.

Eddles was a talented player at Caulfield Grammer whose career was cut short at 17 by a major knee injury. Seven knee operations later he retired without any further games. His playing career briefly resumed on the 1978 Intervarsity in Brisbane – 3 games and several goals playing in a knee brace showed glimpses of what he might have been on the field but for injury.

Eddles coached the Under 19s in 1980, was Assistant Senior Coach and Reserves Coach in 1981 and 1983, and senior coach in 1984. He had a keen footy brain. Professionally, he spent his career at BHP, starting in tax and rising through the ranks to dizzy heights of the senior leadership team. At a personal level he built lifelong friendships with the Monash community who fondly recall his sense of humour, generosity, and intellect.

Condolences to his wife Lindy, daughter Sammie, son Tom, sister Kathryn, and his large cohort of friends. by @monashbluesfc
