Some are lawyers. Some are doctors. Some are marketing executives. Some are moms. Some are married. Some are single. All are women. All are writers. I’ve known some for almost 10 years and some I met that weekend.

During one of the most (physically) painful and frightening times of my life these women became my family.

Without my knowledge these women came together to take care of me while
I was admitted to the hospital in a town none of us lived in. Someone stayed with me through the night until my husband arrived the next morning. They booked his hotel. Packed up my bag.
They made sure I felt
Loved and cared for when I was terrified.
All are mortified I made this post. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m talking about you- @nishawrites @namratapatelauthor @lavanya.lakshmi.writes @sonali.dev @annikasharma @blth0ta @authoravarani @nkumarwrites @suleenabibra

These women are many things , we were brought together by our love for writing romance. For me the bond goes well beyond that. If you as a reader have not read a book by one of these women- this is your sign! Go grab their books now and enjoy and savor every minute!! by @monashroffauthor

‘Always a daughter. Never a daughter in law’.

This is what my father in law said to me days before he passed. I must stress that it wasn’t the first time he had expressed these sentiments to me. Papa was generous with his love and did not hold back in letting you know his feelings for you.

There are many fathers-in-law who have expressed these sentiments, but My Papa didn’t stop at expression- he backed these words with his heart and actions- always treating me the same as he did the daughters he raised.

He changed lives with his love. Anything from offering a meal or a ride to a place to call home to choosing to make you his daughter.

Make no mistake he chose to make me his daughter and I am blessed for it. I chose to love him, too. Though loving him was easy. His smile when he looked at you drew you in. And you could not help but love him.

He was never a father in law. Always a father. ❤️

And I will miss him endlessly. by @monashroffauthor
