Only £0.99 😱 Pre-order now on Amazon 🌟 Eight guests enter The Thorne Spa. Six will leave alive.

In the heart of Harrogate, The Thorne Spa promises silence, luxury, and its famous Three Heat Journey.

For Chloe Summers, it should be the perfect escape – even if spending the day with her immaculate, impossible mother already feels like punishment.

But Chloe is not the only guest hiding discomfort behind a robe and a polite smile.
A nervous man watches the exits.
A glamorous wife trembles beside her powerful husband.
A first date is not quite a first date.

And written on the spa walls is a promise that feels less soothing by the hour: Restore what the world has taken.

By the end of the day, two guests will be dead, every lie will start to surface, and Chloe will realise the most dangerous thing inside The Thorne Spa is not the heat.

It is the truth someone has killed to keep buried.

Harrogate ... where do I even begin? 💜

Also ... I'm very behind on posting everything from the festival, so thank you for bearing with me while I slowly catch up on all the photos, stories and wonderful memories.

What a few days.

Every year, this festival reminds me why I love crime fiction so much, but this year somehow felt even more special.

There were so many pinch-me moments that I'm still not entirely convinced they actually happened. John Marrs wants to read The Harrogate Spa Murders ... and yes, my hand was shaking while I was signing a copy for him. That definitely wasn't on my 2026 bingo card.

It was such a joy to see Lisa Jewell again, as always, and to finally spend time with the wonderful Louise Swanson, whose kindness, encouragement and advice meant so much. Chatting with Adele Parks, Jo Callaghan, T.M. Logan and so many other incredible authors whose books I've loved over the years was another reminder of just how welcoming this community is.

One of my favourite parts, though, was catching up with everyone from Bookstagram and BookTok. Some friends I only knew online, others I've met before, but every conversation felt like meeting up with old friends.

I also had so much fun hiding signed copies of The Harrogate Spa Murders around the festival ... and I was absolutely delighted to hear they'd all been found! I hope everyone who discovered one enjoys the story.

Brilliant panels filled with inspiration and insights. Endless conversations about books. Proof copies. Bookshops. Publishers. Readers. Writers. More books than anyone could possibly carry home.

I loved every minute of it.

Harrogate has become such a special place for me. Every year I leave feeling inspired, motivated and incredibly grateful to be part of this amazing crime fiction community.

Until next year... 💜

Thank you for 1K! 💜

A thousand people. It honestly feels a little surreal.

That number may seem small to some, but to me it feels like a huge milestone, and one worth celebrating.

Over time, this little corner of Instagram has become so much more than a place to talk about books. It's become a place where I've met incredible readers, writers, bloggers and fellow book lovers – both online and in person. Some of you I've had the pleasure of meeting at festivals and events, others I've only spoken to through messages and comments, but every single interaction has made this journey that little bit more special.

Writing can be quite a solitary thing, so having people who get excited about your stories, cheer you on, recommend your books or simply stop by to say hello means more than I can put into words.

Thank you for every conversation, every message, every comment, every review, every recommendation, and every little bit of encouragement along the way. You've celebrated the highs with me, cheered me on through the exciting moments, and made this journey far more special than I could have imagined. I genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

Here's to more books, more mysteries, more bookish adventures, and hopefully many more opportunities to meet some of you along the way. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us next.

Thank you for being here. It truly means the world. 💜
