There’s a difference between being aggressive and being assertive.

As a Black woman in nursing, I refuse to believe that communicating clearly, questioning unsafe situations, or advocating for myself makes me difficult. Its a special place for certain women, that mislable BLACK WOMEN AS ABRASIVE OR AGGRESSIVE, bc we are “clear”

My confidence should not be mistaken for confrontation.

I can be professional, educated, direct, AND a Black woman without having to make myself smaller to make someone else comfortable.

And that’s the conversation we need to have. 🖤
